...This is the first part of Thrice's two part concept album Alchemy Index which has been completely produced and recorded by Thrice them selves. The disks were mostly recorded from there home studio by Teppei Teranishi the lead guitarist of thrice whilst Dustin as usual took the leading role in writing most of the material. Now if you haven't heard about these albums the alchemy index is a concept album based on the four natural elements Water,Fire,Earth and Air. Each section of the album consists of 6 tracks comprising of: Fire: 1. Fire Breather 2. The messenger 3. Backdraft 4.The Arsonist 5. Burn the fleet 6.The flame Deluge Water: 1. Digital sea 2. Advantages: no short tracks, mix of genres, very good value for money, thort provoking lyrics.
Disadvantages: as they mix genres you may find something that dosent suit your taste.

...Avenged sevenfold turn it up to 11 once again with city of evil! The orange county hardcore rockers have realeased a CD you'll listen to over and over again. The group of 5 waste no time going into the hard hitting beast and the harlot, which gives the album it's title. Next comes burn it down, giving a story of betrayel in its powerful lyrics. These boys however like to mix it up, and this is no exception, genres ranging from hard rock to jazz (most notibaly in strength of the world, track 9). If this dosent give you reason enough to buy it, then the fact that there is no track shorter thak 4 minutes 55, means you get grate value for money, infact over 70 minutes worth in 11 tracks, which is quite a feat. Avenged Sevenfold's debut release on a major label deserves to be a great sucess, worth a buy any day of the week... Read review

Advantages: Grimy,dirty,anthemic and Original
Disadvantages: More a Reznor side project than Mansons

...This album, by far Manson's best, charts a sickening world of apathy and hate that enthralled the gothlike culture of modern metal. Interlacing his own paranoid life experiences with the prophecies of the coming of the Antichrist, Manson looked to have forged his own legend around him, before he smashed the character in Mechanical Animals. Musically, the album makes good use of Reznor's production, almost sounding like a Trent side project. But the grimy,almost demonic texture of the heavy rock songs makes this stand head and shoulders above anything else Manson has done. Stand out tracks Minute of Decay (a brooding reflection on a burnt out apathetic Antichrist), Reflecting God (a cacophanous anthem railing against God) and Man That You Fear (the burn out which warns his family of what he's become) truly are songs of almost immortal...
