Additional notes
Album Notes: One of producer and remixer Matthew Dear's first releases under his own name--his best-known alias is Audion, under which he records hard-edged techno--ASA BREED is a straightforward electronic pop record, not far removed from the early-1980s likes of Yaz and Depeche Mode. "Deserter" features multi-tracked vocals singing a languid melody over a coolly retro synth arrangement, while "Shy" and "Pom Pom" strip things down even further into pure synth minimalism. ASA BREED is a charming electronic pop album likely to appeal to many beyond the style's usual cult audience.
Album Reviews: Spin (p.96) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "Paired with downcast piano, guitar, and darkly funky rhythms, his enigmatic mantras and coded narratives deal in romantic desperation..."

Its Destiny has cometh Review ofPick Of Destiny, The (Deluxe Edition) [Digipak] [PA] - Tenacious Dby
Inucbus
Advantages: Another good CD from rock legends Disadvantages: would be nice to have had more tracks
...The special edition CD is a nice purchase as the songs are enjoyable and of a good Tenacious D standard. The special edition contains the 3D art cover which is well thought up, it contains a poster of Jack Black and Kyle Gass on the back of a sasquatch and a mini replica of the Pick of Destiny.
The tracks are the songs off of the film and it still contains plenty of tracks to make you laugh your heart out.
The comical value of Tenacious D is still of high standard and their musical talents have not failed them yet as they still continue to make the world of rock a better place.
The greatest thing is that the legends that are Tenacious D are back!!...

Advantages: Twice as much excellent music Disadvantages: price - depending on where you buy
...I originally heard the title track Back to Black and was haunted by the lyrics. However I wasn't sure her album would be worth buying. Then I heard some of the other great songs on the first disc such as 'rehab' and 'tears dry on their own'. Amy's music has an old-time feel to it, of jazz and soul in some Southern bar. I love the sounds of the Sax and the sadness of the songs although I always end up humming away in a cheerful mood after hearing it. There are some very catchy melodies. I came across the Deluxe edition by accident when I was searching for the best price. I found that for little more than the cost of the standard 'Back to Black' album (depending on where you buy - check out Amazon's marketplace or download it) I could get another CD. For me the hit of the second album is the upbeat and very successful 'Valerie'. I find...
