Ashanti is a new talented young singer from America. She had a no1 in america followed by her successful album. This album has a lot of great music with Ashanti's smooth voices in the songs. JaRule did a song called Always On Time with her which got hjer well known and left her to carry on the success herself so this is what she has done.

1.INTRO-This is a nice way of beginning the album going through some songs on the album and collaborations she has done. It is playing all of the songs like a faded radio and then immediately the first song begins.
2.FOOLISH-Her first single from the album, quite a slow song but something different about it. The music is repetitive but it isn't too annoying, the singing is really nice and blends
well with the soft music. This song is released this week in the UK and I am sure it will do really well.
3.HAPPY-This has got some sort of pipes making the music and very hard beats which give it a strange sound. This song takes a while to get used to because of its sound but the singing does fit with it and the rhythm is great. Another song which is more of a relaxing one rather than a dance-to song. The majority of this album is relaxing it isn't an album really for a disco.
4.LEAVING(ALWAYS ON TIME PART 2) -This song is one of my favourites on the album. It sounds really different from Always On Time and the beat is brilliant in this song. I love the smooth sound of this and the way Ashanti's voice really mixes well with the music to create this calm sound. I hope this song is a future single because it would definitely do brilliantly. Ja Rule's part at the end of the song also works well.
5.NARRATIVE CALL-This is just Ashanti talking, basically like a phone call. This is just a skit leading on to the next song so it isn't anything great.
6.CALL-The music in this song is strange it sounds like guitar strings being plucked. The beat of the song is good and so is the pace. Ashanti's singing in this song isn't that great, it's very deep and not much of a tune to it mostly like she is talking. This song is very repetitive but it isn't completely terrible.
7.SCARED-The music is not a main part in this song as it is quite quiet and more in the background. This is a slower and relaxed song but it's really good. The beat of the music is really good and the song has a steady rhythm. I like the singing in this song because it flows smoothly like the music making it sound very nice.
8.RESCUE-I really like the music in this song the heavy beats and the music mixed in with it. The singing is not noticed much here but it's still great. This has a good flow to it and again another slow song but another good one. Not much to say about this song really and nothing to criticize.
9.BABY-The music in this song again as very hard beats and good music. Nothing in this album changes much which makes it hard to review all nice singing, hard beats and relaxing music with good rhythms. I feel as if for every song I am repeating myself.
10.VOODOO-This song has an r'n'b sound with the good singing. It begins with a phone call mixed in with music then the phone call stops and the music plays on. This has a different sound but nothing excellent really quite dull.
11.MOVIES-I don't know whether I like this song or not. The music is very weird and the singing is ok but nothing different from the other songs. This is not a great song on the album but I wouldn't skip it.
12.FIGHT-This is basically another skit which is a fight going on with a lot of bad language.
13.OVER-This is quite a good relaxed song. The music is ok and Ashanti's voice fits well with the music but at some points it can blend too much. A nice song as the album is coming to a close.
14.UNFOOLISH-This is weird, it's the same song as foolish but her not being a fool and doing everything correctly. This is the contrary to Foolish and quite a strange thing to do but a good idea. Some people might say it is just a way of putting another song on the album but it's still ok.
15.SHI SHI-I am not sure if this is her sister or not but a girl is talking about I am guessing Ashanti inspiring her and saying that she is happy her dreams have come true. This is also another skit.
16.DREAMS-At the start of this song again children talking and then the song begins properly. This is a nice song but nothing great, it's not a song I would associate with Ashanti but it's alright. The music is not really her so I don't like this that much.
17.THANKYOU-This ends off the album well. Overall a very relaxed album with great songs and great singing. This album may not appeal to everyone but if you like her debut single Foolish you will like this album.
ALBUM COVERS __________ The front cover to this album is very nice because of the pale colours used. There is a picure of her with a blue border round it which is nice. The back covers are also the same blue and white with another picture which works well.

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to being fans of Ashanti and Ja Rule........at the time I was vaguely aware of them, would sing along when the singles came on the radio etc but never took much interest.....it's only this year that I've realised how great they are and now I'm like a crazy mad fan!!
