...Another American Singer, right? Well not Ashanti. Just 21 years old, Ashanti Douglas comes from Glen Cove,Long Island,Newyork,U.S.A. Her first single 'Foolish' reached no 1 in the US charts along with her self titled album'Ashanti'. Ashanti first appeared on our t.v screens in 2001 in always on time a RnB classic duet with herself and her record label mate, worldfamous rapper Ja Rule. Always on time was also a massive hit but people still didnt know Ashanti well, until her First single Foolish was released and was no 1 world-wide for weeks. ...Ashanti is probably well remembered from her appearance in Ja Rule's "Always on Time" Video back in April 2002. Ja Rule then signed Ashanti to his record label Murder Inc. Ashanti also had a duet with Fat Joe. She was responsible for the catachy lyrics for "Whats Luv" After these two massive hits Ashanti released her debut album called "Ashant". I personally thought that it was going to be as big an album as her duets with Jar Rule and Fat Joe and I was disappointed. Ashanti co-wrote JLo's song "Ain't it Funny" the remix - which was another massive hit. Ashanti's albums are worth listening to if you like RnB music. Her sound is unique an I think that her voice is great. She is not like artists that come out and think they are too nice. ...when i got the ashanti album i couldnt wait to listen to it. shes a excellent vocalist and has an amazing voice. i love all of her songs, she sings like an angel! not only is she a great singer, she is a pretty young woman. she deserves the title PRINCESS OF HIP HOP AND RnB. My favorite song on the album would have to be baby, i heard a remix to the song a while ago and loved it so without a doubt i loved the original. her attitude, her looks and of course her voice are going to get this young woman extremely far! not only is she a big hit in america she is a massiv hit for england!...
