If you only buy one Nina Simone album then this is the one to buy. As the title of the album states this is 'The Very Best of Nina Simone' and it has been compiled beautifully. Before I bought the album I only knew one of her songs and yet as the album played out on my dvd player I found myself realising that I didn\'t know she had sung half the songs and that I had heard these on various films and on television advertisements. Very Best of British steam

Advantages: Fantasitc footage of the last days of steam

This is another in the eminently professionally produced DVD programmes on steam train released through Green Umbrella. With the Very Best of British Steam of Yesteryear, you are given a real feast for the eyes and also, for the memory, of course. Well, for those of us old enough to remember when steam trains regularly plied their business up and down the main lines of the United Kingdom. The last regular steam runs in Britain came to a very sad halt in August 1968. That's slightly under a year before the first manned space flight to the moon, for those interested in transport trivia. Without an unsung bunch of dedicated enthusiasts and professional and semi-professional film makers in the previous two decades, these wonderful steam trains would not be available to the general public. Review of The Very Best Of British Steam Of Yesteryear (DVD)

Juile Andrews at her best.

Advantages: This will make you smile, and cry.
Disadvantages: you will get sick of it after 1000 plays.

Ok I might be a middle ages man, but i grew up with this movie. I recently bought this for my daughter, and sat with her through the entire movie. I have to admit this re-release of the classic is so much better on dvd. You get surround sound to "the hills are alive with music". The picture is sharper and with subtitles on you can use it for kareoke! - final I can sing "do ray me" backwards. If you like any Juile andrew movies this has got to be a must, the singing is supurb, being one of the best musical films ever made. The dvd navigation panel gets you straight to any song you like, so if you want to jump to "goodbye fair well, auf weidersien.... " you can without the worry of having to fast forward and rewind. In my honest opinion, this is unmissable in any dvd collection, especially for familly and freinds to watch ...
