Advantages: Fine alto and tenor playing Disadvantages: One or two bland choices of material
...This is a worthwhile addition to the bebop library, in which Sonny Stitt goes some way to dispelling two popular misconceptions about him: one, that he was just a CharlieParker clone; and secondly, that his achievements were as a band member or collaborator rather than an outright leader.
Stitt does indeed pay his respects to Parker here, quoting from such Parker treatments as "Star Eyes" and "My Melancholy Baby". But this is more of a tribute to the jazz giant in the aftermath of his death than a copycat act. Stitt himself disliked the comparison, and his decision to record on tenor as well as alto sax can in many ways be seen as a piece of self-assertion. He handles both with equal zest and shows he can be delicate one moment, more beligerent the next.
To me the best moments on this recording are the three stylish and confident...

Advantages: Pretty far out stuff, I ain't never heard anything like it before Disadvantages: Hard to get into, will need to see live to get full experience
...slow down here. We’re in a dark place now. The bass is heavy in this one and pretty predominate throughout the track. It lightens up later till the end of the track with some plucking of what I hope is the bass, but it sounds more like a cello or even a viola.
3. LAVA
More of a varied drumbeat than before and more of the double-bass playing. Mixed into this are some strange flute-like sounds. Again most of this album is thick with bass, but less present in this one. Its still making the water in my glass shake. Slightly repetitive and not one of my favourites off the album.
4. Open A Door
This is one of these tracks that you may tend to get on hip-hop albums, specifically the Beastie Boys, which is mostly them farting around. Actually its more a precursor to the next track.
5. Themes From The Big Red
This is a pretty good track. Good...

Advantages: legally listen to all tracks for free online, great album Disadvantages: none
..., if you’ve got complications and a reputation, wouldn’t want to get in your way but anyway’. The track was written by James, Charlie and Tom from McFly and wraps up the album nicely. Hehe!
* My view *
Overall I think this is the best pop album I’ve ever heard. All of the songs are catchy and it’s all killer no filler!
It beats their debut album, Busted, which is also fantastic. Charlie agrees, “I much prefer the sound of this album to the last one.”
Some of the lyrics I put in the op seem a bit dodgy, but you’d have to listen to the tracks to understand the way the songs go. For example, ‘You left your phone so I invaded, I hated what I saw, You stupid lying ***** who’s David? Some guy who lives next door’ from Who’s David sounds ridiculous but if you heard the tune it would make more sense.
I think Busted deserve a chance from...
