Well what can I say. Basically I'll admit from the outset this is my favourite album of all time. This album has everything - heavy guitars, rock choruses, sweet melodies and insane solos. On less than two of the songs, 'little wing' and 'if six was nine' have been covered by a large number of other artists
This album starts with a very strange track called 'EXP' which in terms of feedback guitar playing is truly ridiculous!!
This sets the tone for a barrage of songs that hit you like a crest of a wave from 'Up From the Skies' to 'Ain't no telling' and 'Castles made of sand'. 'Little Wing' one of my all time favourite tracks is absolutely amazing - so melodic and in effect peaceful. 'If Six was nine' is where the heavy guitars come in and the effect is again magnificent.
What truly amazes me about this album most of all though is that it was written in 1968 but if you listen to it today it still sounds as fresh and new as at any time before.
If you haven't heard this album go out and buy it right now. It's an unforgettable experience!!
