Advantages: Great Djs, Good music, Funny Disadvantages: Run by BBC
Hi today i will be reviewing BBCRadio1.
I usually listen to Radio1 at night as its something to do while trying to get to sleep (not a bad thing!). I personally enjoy the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills mainly because I find Chris funny and Scott has some great features from the old angry pizza man wind up to the new Whats Becky's Forté
which features Becky the Assistant Producer trying to find that talent she excels at.
The Chris Moyles show is different than most other shows on Radio1in that its not just the presenter that gets involved the whole team have a great time and in turn help you to get ready for whatever your going to.
During the day there is Jo Whiley, Sarah Cox and Edith Bowman. I personally don't listen to these just because I'm usually busy. For the few times I have listened to them they do film ...

Advantages: Good choice of tracks. Good cover versions. Diversity of artists. Disadvantages: Can't think of any other than maybe a couple of strange choices for covers.
of the same song, one a cover and the other a new version by the original artist. Check out Sam Sparro's version of "American Boy" then listen to Estelle's new version of her own song and see which you prefer.
Most of the cover versions are pretty good but be prepared for a few surprises. In my opinion some covering artists would be natural choices e.g. Newton Faulkner covering Kate Nash's "Foundations" or REM covering Editors "Munich" which I think is excellent. On the other hand I wouldn't expect The Script to cover Enimem on "Lose Yourself" which I think works well, or The Feeling to cover Kelly Rowland's "Work".
There are some songs I don't like which I have a different opinion of now having heard the Live Lounge version. One in particular is "Blinded By The Lights" by The Streets. I think this version is much better.

Advantages: Probably the best news and sports station in the UK Disadvantages: Some programmes are boring
a lot of information to impart. I tune into this show if 'This Morning' on ITV1 is boring.
SIMON MAYO SHOW
I used to listen to Simon Mayo on Radio One. He has turned into a very good interviewer. The sports segment of his show is good. I don't like the cinema reviews nor the interviews with celebrities. I hardly ever agree with the cinema reviewers. One of the best films I have seen over the past few years was 'Bratz' which got panned by the film critics. A lot of the interviewees often have a book or film to plug which makes for boring radio. I believe that Simon Mayo will leave Radio Five Live for BBCRadio Two in the future.
DRIVE
I was saddened when Jane Garvey left 'Drive' for BBCRadio Four. But Peter Allen and Anita Anand do a great job of hosting this show. The interviews are well-conducted and there is a lot ...

Album Notes
New Order: Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitar): Gillian Gilbert (keyboards); Peter Hook (bass); Stephen Morris (drums). Recorded live at The Glastonbury Festival on June 19, 1987. Includes liner notes by Paul Lester. Recorded live in England in the summer of 1987, this disc is an uneven hour of New Order music that is redeemed by some brilliantly inspired versions of classic tracks. The album opener, "Touched by the Hand of God," is hampered by a bottom-heavy sound quality that serves the band poorly. The second track, "Temptation," goes a long way to improving things, though. Performed slightly faster than usual with the guitar lines cutting brightly into the melody, it is clearly one of the band's best. The middle of the album, which includes a renamed "Every Little Counts," here called "Every Second Counts," also suffers from poor sound, though there are some interesting alternate lyrics to several well-known tracks. On a 10-minute workout of "Perfect Kiss," things finally begin to get on track, with Peter Hook's bass lines delivered with authority and Bernard Sumner's vocals full of gusto. An excellent "Age of Consent" follows, featuring the whole band playing fast and sloppy, clearly enjoying itself. Ending on a high note, a cover of the Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray" builds over nearly nine minutes, accelerating into a crunch of samples that really shows just how good New Order can be live.
