Advantages: The 6 number 1 records Disadvantages: The rest of the tracks are rubbish
Well the title itself is a misnomer for starters as the disco era was a fairly short period during the mid 1970's as disco was ousted from the music scene by Punk and the 80's were ruled by 2 Tone Ska then the New Romantics and synth music at least as far as the UK went any way.
Disco may have lived on into the 80's in America but it was replaced by electro, hip hop then rap followed by House music. Wikipedia even openly admits that disco died in 1979 but also states "the genre continued to be popular elsewhere during the 1980s", probably in less fashionable countries that hadn't adopted whatever was popular from England or America by then. Take it from someone who lived through all 3 decades, disco was dead and gone by the 1980's.
So whats on this album then?

Advantages: Diverse shows that appeal across the spectrum Disadvantages: The mix can be a little strange at times.
I always find it surprising as to the diversity of Radio2, the schedule on any given night could contain a short half hour program about Folk music and another night a program about Theatre organs can be heard, I have listened to both and realised there is more to life than listening to such stations as Happy FM (or Capital) that tend to play the same record over and over again every two hours. Besdes these stations appear to be aimed at someone about 15 years younger than myself anyway.
Radio2 on the other hand caters for people of my age and boy they certainly deliver, I always tend to be in the car coming home or going somewhere when Elaine Paige is broadcasting. Sometimes the journey can be from hell at worst and other times just damn right boring. So to experience the diversity that Radio2 offer on a Sunday is a bonus ...

Your wish has been fulfilled because you have all those tunes packed as a collection of this wonderful Cd set. You want it you got it dance beats...reggae ..Pop and the right rhythm.
You really won't have to give yourself a reason to dance as you play this On and On..
Yes there could have been more hits of the era gone by but that would give you a reason to look for another party cd set.
