..., a female vocal pulls the song out of its despair and guitars grind and cut through the music before it all fades out into oblivion.
Open Letter and Ringmaster are back in the rock vein, the fomer full on Stones the latter more akin to Steve Earle or Tom Petty. Havana By Midnight is the biggest departure on the album, latin beats and a lonely trumpet sends this song over the border and across the water, Spanish sounds fill the song and even though it sounds different from the rest of the album, it has enough of the flavour of Tommy Hales nature so as not to feel out of place.
The album wraps up with a cover, Savior, originaly by London sleeze rockers Dogs D`Amour, this version is just voice and guitar and a very distorted bass way back in the mix. The sparseness of the music empasises the words, a song of redemption for past...

Advantages: Another solid creation with wide appeal Disadvantages: Not enough difference between the tracks
...A typically good album from one of the best artists in this genre, "In Between Dreams" does little to disappoint hardcore Jack Johnson fans. However, more so than with any of his other albums, a lot of the tracks have the tendancy to blend together as they are mostly all quite similar.
The singles "Better Together" and "Good People" are two of the best tracks, with both being great to sing along to. "Never Know" and "Banana Pancakes" are also very catchy.
"Belle" is a very unusual track, very different to the others, and at 1 minute 43 seconds, is the second shortest. Its originality is very pleasing on the ear and the album is certainly better for its inclusion.
"Breakdown" is a very catchy, melodic tune and is another welcome inclusion.
The album is very good and I'd strongly recommend it to anybody. It's very relaxed...

Advantages: Scottish, celtic niche, very pleasant Disadvantages: band seems to be always falling out
...style of melodic Power Metal and antiquity. However, the band planned to take an additional novel approach in their musical style by incorporating Celtic. With a firm objective in mind and a real sense of direction the bands plans as quote, "are to spread the word, music & glory of the Scottish Highlands!" Two years later saw the release of the Highland Glory debut album From The Cradle To The Brave.
