An amazing debut album that really has put James blunt on the map! A superb collection of 10 songs which are very personal to the experiances of James Blunt. Gets better the more you listen to it.
Admittedly some of Blunt's songs have been overplayed on the radio, but if chilled soft rock is your thing then this won't bother you! Brings his own unique style to the music he plays, and a voice that can't be compared to any other performers.
I have found that whilst it is the first few songs on the album that grab your attention at the beginning, you soon find the later songs growing on you as much as the first few did. If it can be faulted, the last few songs are quite similar, however I'm sure that songs such as "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover" will continue to be played on the radio in years to come and go down as classics in the music world.
1. High - Moving love song, great opening to the album 2. You're Beautiful - THE classic James Blunt song... Amazing 3. Wisemen - My personal favourite. Very catchy tune and never get bored of it. 4. Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt's own favourite. A true story from his experiences. Very passionate. 5. Tears and Rain - Also a favourite of mine. Good mix between the tempo of the start and end of the album. 6. Out Of My Mind - Powerful chorus mixed with quiet interludes. Great drumming. 7. So Long, Jimmy - Superb lyrics, about the loss of a good friend. 8. Billy - Not outstanding, but as always well sung and clever lyrics. 9. Cry - Sad song, sung with real passion. 10. No Bravery - Ends on a sad note with James's experiences of war.
