Advantages: Good singing
Disadvantages: A little dull in places

...The last UK album release for Peter Andre was the 2002 "Very Best Of" collection. With all the hype and criticism about Peter's mixed fortunes over his 11 year recording career, it's easy for people to ignore the fact that while the material may not always be top notch, the man has a great voice. The aptly titled "The Long Road Back" contains a mixture of styles and Peter works with a variety of other writers. Musically, it's a combination of his previous albums - some songs sound like out-takes from his debut 1993 album "Peter Andre", while others have an R 'n' B/pop/disco feel, much like the material on "Natural" (1996) and "Time" (1997). He's not afraid to let his influences shine through either, with yet another cover of a Kool And The Gang song and Michael Jackson-style vocals. The themes (predictably) are mainly love... ...on bread and water Craving blood poured from the alter" 11. Back To Hell fast paced heavy punk with great singing and lyrics about going back to hell 12. Your Neck one long verse the lyrics of this song are amazing matts vocal talents really show in this song. 13. Smoke the slow song of the album with dan taking over the singing with a slight sound affect and distorted guitars make this song great to listen to. SUMMARY This is a good album with a few songs that are not hits. great guitars and drums allow for a the darker pop/punk sound of alkaline trio to shine through good lyrics and matts unique voice means this album will provide hours of listening to anyone who likes the new "emo" movement or darker pop/punk bands...
