The Ministry of Sound take us Back to the Old Skool once more with the second volume of ... more
their nostalgic house compilation. From vocal house classics such as CeCe Peniston's "Finally", Blue Pearl's "Naked in the Rain" and Robin S's "Show Me Love" to acid house faves LFO, D Mob and Altern 8, via former chart smashes from the likes of Rozalla, Snap, Sub Sub and the Shamen, you might not remember the titles or artists, but every track brings back fond memories. Spiral Tribe, Castlemorton, smiley faces, Global Hypercolour T-shirts, whistles, white gloves and a nation of clubbers discovering ecstasy--all neatly summed up in 40 tracks. What is even more astonishing is the staying power of some of the tracks present, Future Sound of London's "Papua New Guinea", Chad Jackson's "Hear the Drummer Get Wicked" and King Bee's "Back by Dope Demand" still get dropped into sets the length and breadth of the country to be met with a collective sigh of familiarity, without sounding dated in any way. I would going back a few years when i bought this and the tracks are even older with tracks like' zombie nation' and 'cafe del mar' you know what i mean. These Ibiza club classics are what defininded a generation and possibly what put the clubbing capital on the map. They're the tracks that will get any crowd up on their feet and dancing because they're ones that plainly can't be ignored.

They're the tracks that will get any crowd up on their feet and dancing because they're ones that plainly can't be ignored.
As produced by the ministry of sound expect every track to be cleverly mixed into the next creating a non-stop classic feel. Well there are the odd ones that aren't so well mixed as if stop has been pressed and start for the next one. Also some of the tracks seem quite short and rushed but i suppose that has to be done to fit so many classics onto the two disc's.
Without doubt everytrack on this CD is legendary, they certainly could show the 'annoying ringtone remix gereration' a thing or two. But dont expect it to on it's own there are a range of competitors offering the same or similar tracks sometimes with better mixes so do have a look around and your may find something better. But for my opinion this is one worth having in your dance collection
