Advantages: Funny Disadvantages: Not as good as freinds
Just watched this new show on channel five and it is good, but no where near as good as 'Freinds'. But then again I never expected it to be! It is based around the life of Joey when he moves into LA, in the same block of appartments as his sister lives in.
In case you dont know Joey (who thinks expected has 2 c's!) is an actor in tv show days of lives and lets just say he isnt the brightest tool in the box!! This character is played superbly by Matt Le Blanc.
Joey was in freinds and this is like a spin-off style thing! I dont get the impression that this will work as good as Freinds because friends is aimed at everyone (I dont know anyone who doesnt like friends) and joey is just one part of friends.

From time to time a TV spin off will launch a character, and actor, from one show to such a height that he will leave far behind the original show. Kelsey Grammer in Fraiser is a classic example of this, Cheers seeming small potatoes in hindsight to the massive financial and critical success of his own vehicle. Joey, Matt Le Blancs new series featuring the Friends character of the same name, however does not seem set to emulate the Seattle shrinks success. The show has run in America since September 2004, but the review that you find here is based on only two episodes, as that is all we have had aired at time of writing, that may seem a small amount of material with which to base a review on, but first impressions can be both important and very telling.

Advantages: Matt Le Blanc Disadvantages: none of the other friends
Like probably millions around the globe, I wasn't sure what to think of a new series, mainly a spin off of the best series ever made (I think). Is it going to get through the critics with not too much damage? According to the NBC website, so far so good and they are making more and more episodes.
The main thing before watching it is not to compare it the fabulous "friends" series.
The 4 main characters are:
- Matt Le Blanc as Joey Tribianni. Seen before obviously in "Friends" but aslo in films like "Lost in space", "Charlie's angels:full throttle".
- Paulo Costanzo as Michael Tribianni (Joey's nephew). Seen in "Road trip" and "40 days and 40 nights".
- Drea de Matteo as Gina Tribianni (Joey's sister). Seen in "the sopranos" but also films like "assault on precinct 13" (remake of John Carpenter's 1976 thriller) and "swordfish ...
