...'I'm Ok'
Back To Basics is Christina's third English album ; her first being Christina Aguilera and her second one named Stripped. This album was released in the United Kingdom in August 2006. The album is different to her other songs as it is based on the 20's , 30's and 40's and there is a jazzy feel to it rather than it being a 'pop album'. To date this album has sold 4.5 million Cds worldwide. Running time of the album is 78 minutes ... ...a change.
Back To Basics is one of my favourite albums because it is so different to the music we listen to these days. I think Christina was very daring to put out an album like this as how well it would do was unpredictable but still she went with that. Because of that reason I admire her ; she knows what she wants and she will reach for it regardless. You can tell that Christina had a lot to do with this album and that this is really ... more
Christina Aguilera is a successful American Popstar. Christina was born on December 18th 1980. She is currently twenty seven years of age , and yet she achieved so much. She first burst into the music industry with her debut single 'Genie In A Bottle' in the Summer of 1999 , however some people are unaware to the fact that she actually recorded the song 'reflection' for the Disney film Mulan. . This led to Christina signing a record deal. The media also potrayed her and Britney as rivals as they were both American female pop stars of a similar age. To date she has sold more than 37 million albums worldwide. She is currently married to music executive Jordan Bratman and in January 2008 , Christina give birth to a baby boy who they named Max Liron Bratman which translates to "Our Greatest Song In Hebrew". Christina uses her real life experiences to inspire her with her songs. For example , it is well known that Christina had a difficult childhood as her father was abusive towards her mother. Songs which are based on this experience include 'Voice Within' , 'Oh Mother' and 'I'm Ok'

Altogether there are 22 tracks on the album. However I am only going to give a brief description of a few songs on the album.
* Hurt * This is one of my favourite songs on the album. It is such a beautiful ballad to listen to , although it is quite a sad song. Christina puts all her emotions into this song. This song is based on Christina and her father , how they havn't kept in touch since he left her when she was a little girl and how now she's grown up , she wonders what he thinks of her. I like how this song has a big build up as it gets nearer to the chorus. This song begins with Christina singing quietly , almost whispering , and then as the song goes on , she changes from whispering , to belting out the notes. Her vocals are very powerful on this song.
* The Right Man * This song is about Christina's husband and how she felt on their wedding day. This song allows Christina to express her feelings for her husband. I like how there is a type of 'echo' on this song , which is similar to the kind of echo you get in a church. The song is powerful , and Christina's voice is strong. This song is so sweet.
* Oh Mother * Another beautiful upbeat ballad about Christina's mother's rough time she had when she was married to Christina's father. This is a very personal song for Christina and you can hear her emotions throughout the song. I like how Christina's vocals are …not quiet…but not her usually loud self either for most of the song , then when she gets to the last verse about how strong her mother and herself are now she belts it out and I think this is really effective. One of my favourite songs on the album.
* I got Trouble * This song definitely has an old feel to it. This song has a real 'bluesy' feel to it. It's an ok song although I'm not really that keen on this one.
* Fuss * I like this song. Apparently this song is about her old producer who refused to work with her on this album and so she dumped him. Apparently the title is short for 'f**k you Scott Scorch. This is quite a short little number although it has a relaxing feel to it. One of my favourite songs on the album , and therefore it is a shame that it is so short.
* Save Me From Myself * This song has such a basic melody yet I love it. It has such a relaxing feel to is. On the day of the birth of her son , she famously dedicated this song to him. I like this song because it is different to her other songs , and she sounds good singing softer and it is a change from her usual 'belting' (as much as I like it) it's nice to have a change.

Because of that reason I admire her ; she knows what she wants and she will reach for it regardless. You can tell that Christina had a lot to do with this album and that this is really the real her. I think it is great that she has recorded songs in the styles she admires (20's , 30's and 40's eras). Christina's voice is amazing as always! She has so much power and yet she is so little! I was definitely recommend this to everyone! Especially if you're a fan of music from the 20's , 30's and 40's - you will love this!
Advantages: Her beautiful voice and singing ability Disadvantages: Not as good as her last album
...having black hair and then back again. The first song i heard from her new album 'Back to basics' was her hit, 'Ain't no other man' which is a more modern day feel song. This song refers to her newlywed husband, Jordan Bratman, who quite a few songs on the album are dedicated to. I instantly liked the song when i heard it, and once i got used to it, I loved it. She sings to the best of her ability as usual, and brings a funky beat to the song (Something ... ...The tracklisting is:

...coming over me, I'm taken back in disbelief" and, funnily enough, that is how you feel. This song is very gospel inspired but Christina's voice shines through! The content matter is basically how she has changed and it makes her wanna pray! I guarantee you will be singing along by the end! It is a real foot tapper and it's a fantastic start. 9/10

3. Back in the day
Like a mission statement for the whole album, this song reinforces the fact that christina is in fact going 'back in the day' and this references all kinds of old singers such as etta james, billie holiday and aretha franklin. The chorus is catchy but the constant singer references are dull and the lyrics are boring, WE GET IT CHRISTINA, BACK TO BASICS AND ALL THAT.
4. Aint no other man
The first single off the ... ...to have completeyl forgotten about back to basics at this point as this sounds like it could have been on her last album.
10. Without you
There is nothing wrong with this song. Its perfectly fine. But its forgettable filler with sappy lyrics and adds nothing except making this album too long.
11. Still dirrty
Now this is better. Ok so referencing your own songs is a rubbish thing to do but at least this jaunty poppy song is a lot more fun than ...

Back To Basics is Christina Aguilera's most recent album, released in 2009, it shows a more mature woman and singer with still that sexy and fun side that we all love her for. Back to Basics has been inspired by songs from the past, jazz and soul artists from the 30's 40's are said to have given some inspiration for the whole album and her new look. Makes me want to Pray /// this song has so much energy and emotion. Beautiful lyrics and vocals
Back in the Day /// this song is a bit more pop rather than jazz, it’s catchy.

Advantages: Good music, good voice Disadvantages: That's up to you to decide
So now Amy Winehouse is the product of the week?? I would say she rather is a product of the music business - squish, wring and spit out with broken bones.
When Rehab came to the radio charts in winter I quite liked the song and checked more about Amy Winehouse, because back then all references were positive and I was on the verge of admiring such a young but mature-souding female singer.
I already don't like the title (BackTo Black), the first link it made in my head was toChristinaAguilera's BackToBasics. Black could be referred to as a basic, classic, elegant, blabla, so even if it probably was a paralel process and not any intention, I didn't like the resemblance.
I reckon this review should be about the album, but come on now. Can you review an album without evaluating also the singer/writer? I'm convinced you can ...

ChristinaAguilera "BacktoBasics" album track titled "Ain't No
Other Man", with musical instruments. So Juelz philoshpy is
bridging the gap between past and present, now thats REAL.
Unfortunately not all his albums available in the Uk, but not to
worry surely you would be able to download the music off the net.
Albums prices varies between £8.99 to £13.99, depends where
you shop, i.e. HMV, VirginMegastores etc.
Obviously Juelz is making a point to use his solo debut as an
introduction to the world. He seams to be demonstrating the
kind of versatility to steal the spotlight, in other words to make
money BIG-TIME!
Many Thanks! ...
Advantages: 'Girl Overboard' - fourth single maybe? Disadvantages: Bit simple, lacks some layers even previous releases had
unfamiliar to you. 'Damn' has familiar sounds to that of something that ChristinaAguilera was trying on her last project, taking things backtobasics. There is a distinct lack of ballads or lyrics with a lot of thought, meaning this is more something you could play in the background of a kids birthday, rather than an adults party. A lot of the lyrics are to do with girl power, something that we all know Girls Aloud aren't the true instigators of - that honour falls to some 1994 girl band. You know them? In closing, it's great at what it is, but for someone that's not a fan already it is poor. Also, the CD cover lacks complete inspiration and is barely respectable. ...
