Disadvantages: Not for everyone, comedy falls flat.

an extent but I found it to drag half way through, it?s worth watching to the end though because the ending was a real high point for the film. It wasn?t an obvious ending and it left the film open to discussions which sometimes works and sometimes doesn?t but with The Break-up it worked really well. I would recommend watching this once, don?t rent, buy but only to make your own mind up about it because public opinion seems to be split concerning this movie. Review of The Break-Up (DVD)

Enjoyable break up

Advantages: Great acting, most people will be able to connect with the story
Disadvantages: None

I went to see this when it was in cinemas and liked it so much that when it came out on DVD I went straight out and bought it. The film was written by Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender and even Vince Vaughn did part of the story and the film was directed by Peyton Reed. The story: The film, hence the name, is about a couple who break up and how it effects both of them as they are still living in the same home together while they wait to sell it. However, neither of them really wants to make way for the other so there are lots of comedy moments during the film and it isn't all serious! The film also follows how it affects their joint friends as normally the group of them do everything together and as you can imagine this suddenly is an awkward position to be in when you don't want to offend either one of the couple ...

Breaking up is hard to fake

Advantages: Some amusing scenes, most people should be able to relate to it at least in part
Disadvantages: Lags a bit script wise in the middle, its not all funny
