weird al yankovic creates the funniest songs and tunes ever in my opinion. he turns the lyrics in a song to make them extremely funny and it certainly works. e.g "i want it that way"- by the backstreet boys - turns into "which backstreet boy is gay". when i first listened to one of his songs "amish paradise" ("gangsters paradise") it reduced me to tears. dont get me wrong there was a couple of songs that were quite boring or took a while to get into but the songs are very funny. i got a friend to listen to one of the tracks and their reaction is priceless as they dont expect it. i have no idea how weird al yankovic comes up with the lyrics but for me theres only one word to describe them- genius!!
Advantages: A good laugh Disadvantages: Can get old, quickly
Weird Al Yankovic's weird twist on songs can make even your grandma giggle, but if you listen to the album more than three times you will start to get a bit bored. Don't get me wrong, it is still fun to see other peoples reaction to the songs, but is really an album that you can only listen to a couple of times, leave it till you don't remember it and then listen to it again. You would be better off getting the best of weird alls videos which are ... ...album does what it says on the tin, makes you laugh, makes you sing along, possibly even makes you get dreadlocks, but it just doesn't beat a classic album such as dark side of the moon (pink floyd) or crime of the century (supertramp)

Album Notes
Personnel: Weird Al Yankovic (vocals, keyboards, accordion); Jim West (guitar, banjo, background vocals); Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria (vocals); Joel Peskin (clarinet); Gary Herbig (baritone saxophone); Warren Luening (trumpet); Tommy Johnson (tuba); Steve Jay (bass, background vocals); Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz (drums, percussion); Lisa Popeil (background vocals). Step into the zany brain of Weird Al as he serves up another eclectic bag of pasquinades and original tunes. Yankovic's spoofs remain true to the melody, and the lyrics flow well as he satirizes a potpourri of poppers from Coolio ("Amish Paradise") to TLC ("Phony Calls") to U2 ("Cavity Search," which urges, "Numb me/Drill me/Floss me/Bill me"). In "The Alternative Polka," Yankovic takes a whirlwind romp through 11 modern-rock songs, original lyrics and all. These gems, coupled with his own songs (from the They Might Be Giantish "Everything You Know Is Wrong" to the barbershop doo-wop of "Since You've Been Gone"), show the self-appointed King of Parody's funny yet firm grasp of popular music.
