The debut album from an amazing soul singer. The smooth vocals are enough to make anyone smile. I've never heard another album quite like this! The feelings that are conveyed through the songs are distinctive and leave you with a postive glow. the songs themselves are easy to listen to on a surface level but listen more closely and you could get lost! There are many soul and R n B artists out there but none with the distinctive flow and sounds of ...
...'yeh!' are just beautiful. Her voice is playful yet deeply and spine chillingly sensual at the same time, you can't help but want to sway your hips along with the melody's. Song to look out for is 'on and on' which is just amazing. This album is a must for anybodys collection. Erykah Badu is different, she's unique. I bought this album after hearing the amazing single, ‘On and on.’ This song is truly stunning and Erykah Badu has a fabulous voice that makes even the weaker tracks like’ Apple tree’, listenable. Apart from ‘On and On,’ for me, the highlight of this album was the song ‘Next Lifetime’ which was also a single. The lyrics of the songs are incredible and the songs are a joy to listen to.
