Advantages: Magnificent skyline. Lots to do and see. Wonderful music heritage. Disadvantages: A number of attractions not wheelchair accessible
We first approached St Louis at twilight and were immediately charmed by the unusual skylight dominated by The Gateway Arch which was bathed in a warm amber glow. We had driven down from Chicago along Route 66 and were pretty tired so we has little time or energy to explore ? St Louis would have to wait until daylight.

First faux-pas of our trip! My pronunciation of St Louis was as in the title of the Judy Garland film and song. Wrong! A local born and bred in St Louis soon corrected me. The English pronunciation is lu-is. Lu-ee is the French pronunciation little used within the city.
St Louis is named after King Louis IX of France ? the only French king that was made into a saint. The city was founded by French explorers, Louis Joliet and Jacques Marquette in 1673.

Advantages: A good pint Disadvantages: Perhaps too good!
Adnams Broadside is a quintessential example of a good British real ale.
It looks attractive in the glass, has a good head on it (but not a fluffy artificial one by any stretch of the imagination) and it has a good, clean scent to it. You can smell that it is made from good, honest hops and yeast!
The flavour of Adnams Broadside is hard to describe.
Strong? Yes, but there is an underlying tenderness, too.
Sweet? Indeed it is somewhat sweet, but there's a good and decent undertone of the bitterness of the hops that holds everything else in equal balance.
Adnams Broadside is like all Adnams beers. Well worth seeking out. I have a bottle of Adnams SSB to be enjoyed later. But that will be for another review! ...

'The Ballad Hits' by Roxette is a compilation of some of the duo's greatest ever tracks. Roxette is essentially a group of two from Sweden, named Marie and Per. They were huge in the late 1980s and throughout the whole of the 1990s. At the turn of the millenium, their popularity levelled out, and since Marie's surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2003, they have paled behind the scenes somewhat.
This album was released early 2003 in the UK, and contains such tracks as 'Listen To Your Heart' and their smash hit 'It Must Have Been Love'. There are 15 tracks in all, most were seen in their album 'Don't Bore Us - Get To The Chorus', but this ballad album does reveal a few new songs.
