Beauty and the beast
This animated movie tells the story of a young shy woman Belle who lives with her father in Paris. He is an inventor and the whole town thinks he's crazy.
Gaston is the man of the town, very popular with the ladies - every man wants to be him and all women want to date him - type of man.
He has a soft spot for Belle and wants to be with her, but when she ignores his advances he sets out to win her heart.
When her father sets off to a inventors convention belle is left alone at home.
As Belle sits at home alone Gaston pays her visit but she hides and runs down to the valley so she doesn't have to deal with him.
Down by the valley, she comes across the horse her father had taken to the convention, so she then knew something bad has happened to her father so off she goes to find him.

I am not a big fan of Disney and that is certainly no secret. I think they make stereotypical, WASP orientated trash most of the time, but there are times when you hav to look and give credit where credit is due. Beauty and the Beast marks one of those times and is a movie which is widely regarded as being the finest animated movie ever made. It may not be the most loved, but it is almost certainly in the top five and ought to have won the Best Picture Oscar for 1991 especially considering the rubbish it was up against. It didn't but you'll not care, you'll just want to watch and enjoy.
Beauty and the Beast is based upon the classic French tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont but of course with the Disney spin added to it - talking candlesticks and usually inanimate objects which suddenly become all singing all dancing clowns ...
Advantages: Very well animated Disadvantages: Too musical for children
Yesterday, Saturday the 26th of October was the day I took my 4 year old daughter and 8 year old cousin to see Beauty and the Beast the Musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
The show started off with a musical ensemble and with two actors on stage, one as the prince and the other as the haggered person with the rose. Very dramatic start as the haggered person' outfit is stripped to display the beauty ejected into the air with lots and lots of bright lights of a "firework display".
The show itself is based on the Disney film and was very well presented.
The two kids were rather bored with show by about 40 minutes into the musical as sometimes some of the scenes were limited to 2 actors and very little activity. Some of the scenes were very funny when Lefou got in the way and being hit over by the Young Prince. They ...
