Curl up by the fire.....

Advantages: Awsome spine chilling vocals
Disadvantages: not very upbeat

...are well known for their ballads and this album brings all the best together in one volume.

Luke Morley's songwriting prowess shines through in every song - from the acoustic led "Better man" (with Luke showing even MORE talent playing a harmonica intro) to the more upbeat power-ballad "Castles in the sand".

Every track has awsome lyrics, wonderfully delivered by singer Danny Bowes, who has one of ...
...talent to the max.
If you like your rock a little more mellow, then this is the album for you.

Also on the album is the best version of "In a broken Dream" that I have ever heard. Danny bowes flawlessly covers this old Rod Stewart song and makes it his own.

Reviews which might be of interest for "Ballads - Thunder"

Thunder go out with a bang.

Advantages: Great album for thunder fans
Disadvantages: last album from a great band.

This is the 2008 album by the British rock group Thunder, it is their 9th studio album. They have had complilation albums such as the live album and the ballads one. Their website is www.thunderonline.com. Here you can listen to samples of this album and some of their others from their long history dating back to the 1980's. Unfortuantly it has been revealed that it will be their last album recorded together. So this is the year to see them live if you have never seen them play. Samples can also be heard of each track on amazon.co.uk website too. So listen before you buy if you arent familiar with their work. The band will still perform on an individual basis or with the other groups they belong to. The band is Luke Morley, guitars, percussion, backing vocals and harmonica Ben Mathews, guitars and keyboards Harry James, drums ...

Review of Bang (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Thunder

Thunder - Not Dead Yet!

Advantages: Some songs as good as anything Thunder have ever done
Disadvantages: Not available really cheaply, yet.

?t lost anything over the last twenty years. Given that Thunder produced one of the greatest rock ballads of all time with 1989?s ?Love Walked In?, it?s no surprise that they should keep trying to emulate it. ?A Million Faces? is another ballad from the band which, like many of their efforts since, is a decent attempt but pales in comparison with what they can do. It has all the hallmarks of a soft rock ballad, with the harmonies in the chorus, the acoustic start leading into an overblown stadium rock style ending and a big guitar solo, but it?s nothing special in terms of stadium rock ballads. ?Don?t Wanna Talk About Love? starts off sounding like it?s going to be much the same again and it does prove that way. It?s a little more rock influenced than the previous track, with less of the overblown stadium rock touches. Again, it ...

Review of Robert Johnson's Tombstone - Thunder

Thundering on and on!

Advantages: Brilliant and British
Disadvantages: None

Thunder were undoubtedly one of the best British Rock bands on the scene during the early nineties, and this first offering from the Thunder camp is excellent. The whole album is brilliant - from the wonderful ballad type tracks like "Love Walked in" and "Don't wait for me" to Gimme Some Lovin and Dirty Love. An Englishman on Holiday is brilliant too - a very true song of what Brits are like on holiday - drinking , fighting and falling over! Very funny. Thunder were brilliant, and just as good live as they were on vinyl (old style records to you younger peeps!) Danny Bowers has a powerful voice that can easily do justice to ballads or rock-your-socks-off tracks, and the guitar work of Luke Morely, whilst not the best in the world, is certainly deservy of credit. A brilliant band, an excellent album and the best live ...
