Advantages: Always nice to hear a band play live Disadvantages: some songs just don't work acoustically
...sure about the vocal break where Adam just seems to warble. This tune works quite well acoustically, although i do feel it starts off really promising but then seems to dwindle somewhat.
5. THE SUN (A. LEVINE) 5:18
Starts nicely with guitar, piano and bongo. Adam's vocals then kick in, telling us about the pain he has gone through in this relationship but that he has no regrets. A good tune, although i don't think it would have had the quality to make a single. A catchy chorus hears Adam at his best, really swinging. Good guitar break that feels full even though its only accompanied by piano and bongos.
6. IF I FELL (J. LENNON / P. MCCARTNEY) 3:23
A beautiful song from Lennon and McCartney, about a man who is afraid he will lose his love to someone else. This is just Adam and an acoustic guitar, personally i don't think it works. Adam...

Advantages: Some brilliant tracks that bring back memories of the 80's Disadvantages: A few duff tracks
...a single person and having a good time.
Loose Ends lend their “Magic Touch” release to the album, which begins with a soulful guitar, accompanied by bongo drums, and a fantastic saxophone solo. The female singer, although not possessing the greatest voice, certainly makes her mark on this track, which is sung to the man in her life, and explains the reason why his “magic touch” is so good.
Whistles and a newspaper vendor’s shout begin the track “Headlines” by Midnight Star. Scratching and a bassy drum beat set the tone, and this track is quite a stop start affair, synonymous with the break dancing period. Whistles are blown through the song, and there is also a rap in the middle.
A loud rhythmic drum beat sets the tone for “Tossing and Turning” by Windjammer, which softens out somewhat as the keyboards and guitars are introduced...

Advantages: Smith, Smith, SMITH Disadvantages: There are none
...More than twenty - that's years, albums and line-ups, folks. In the world of music at the tail-end of the 20th Century there is little doubt that The Fall, dynamite punkabilly Manc band, led by the spiteful, spiky, evil wordSmith, Mark E are SOMETHING ELSE, as different from most of the everyday dross you found in the charts as butter is to fire.
There's nothing else like this band of whores and comics that has mutated through various guises since the late 1970's, but always with the lippy genius at the helm.
Smith once said, it'd still be The Fall, even if it's only me and my granny on bongoes, and how right he is! The charge that you get when The Fall are around, with their uniwue, rumbustious and even downright dangerous attitude is like nothing else you'll experience in modern music.
Unique amongst their peers in never selling...
