Baltic Voices, Vol 1 [SACD]

Advantages: great to have a cd with all her best songs on!
Disadvantages: a bit pricey considering its been available for such a long time

...although its a bit pricey compared to normal CD prices its worth the money! Its great to have an album where you dont need to skip certain tracks because there the typical 'album tracks' which are basically poor songs and are just on there to fill up the space! lol! i never actually realised how many good songs she's released and more to the point how many number 1's she had! its a brilliant buy because the songs aren't all the same, theres the typical ballads for example 'Hero' but then theres ones such as 'heartbreaker' which are more upbeat. not really a fan of the artist but no one can deny that she has a unique and amazing voice! i'd definately reccomend this album to anyone i know loads of both boys and girls who love the album as much as me! go buy it now! xxx... Advantages: The Music & SACD 5.1 Surround Sound

...This is the third time I have bought this album, the first on vinyl, second on CD and now on SACD. This is one of Dylans best, the lyrics are superb, poetry that only Dylan can write. For example, the lyrics on buckets of rain (1:28 into the track), and I quote. " I Like The Cool Way You Look At Me......Every Thing About You Is Bringing Me Misery". Just wonderfull. The acoustic guitar on Buckets of Rain sounds superb, you can hear the full resonance and quality as if Dylan was playing in the same room. The same goes for the other nine tracks, they are just as impressive with superlative sound quality and lyrics. In conclusion I suppose you could say that the overall feel of this album is intimate and sublime to real life. Advantages: All the benefits of the quadrophonic recording without the crackle
Disadvantages: the vinal still sounds warmer

...What can I add after that title? I have my original pressing first release vinal album which still sounds superb although getting a quadrophonic amp that still works is a bitch! This SACD presentation brings back much of the original feel and nearly the depth of the original which the cd lacked particuarily if used via naff kit. This is Floyd at their peak in my humble opinion and one of the defining albums of the twentieth century. If you don't already own it buy it now forget Seargent Pepper and th White Album this is the must buy album of all time. Ok you need a sacd player and a decent 5.1 amp to appreciate this album at its best having said that if you have the kit sit back and enjoy. It's hard to believe this album was recorded so long ago considering the multi level nature of the tracks that are so far ahead of their time.... Read review
