27 Dresses

Advantages: Katherine Heigl
Disadvantages: Predictable

27 Dresses is a 2008 romantic comedy, starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden, and was directed by Anne Fletcher. Jane has always been the bridesmaid and never the bride, she?s obsessed with weddings and has in fact been a bridesmaid 27 times, hence the title of the film. When she?s attending two different weddings on the same night, she bumps into Kevin, a cynic who manages to write the most romantic weddings at the same time. At the same time, she?s hopelessly in love with her boss, then her sister arrives back in town and somehow is engaged to her boss within the month. Jane is shocked, how will she ever win over George now? And how will things go with Kevin? What will her 28th dress be? The cast is good, but nothing special. Katherine Heigl plays Jane, the main character in the film who?s looking for love but finds it somewhere ...

27 Yesses!

Advantages: Enjoyable, very romantic, an easy watch
Disadvantages: None really

I've been wanting to see 27 Dresses for quite a long time, but have felt a bit put off by the mixed reviews I have read and heard about it. But I do love the romantic movie genre so I was quite sure I would actually like this film, so last night I persuaded my fiance to sit down and watch it with me. He wasn't overly keen on seeing it but I think we're both glad that we gave it a go! 27 Dresses tells the story of Jane Nichols, the woman who seems always to be the bridesmaid and never the bride. Jane has been a bridesmaid for 27 of her friends, wearing some truly awful dresses, and works hard for her boss George at a magazine. Jane's sister Tess reappears wite news of her own, causing Jane to re-evaluate her love life with a little help from newspaper columnist Kevin... I thought this movie was going to be incredibly soppy ...

All join in with the Chorus: UC200 stereo pedal from Behringer.

Advantages: Great Value for money, Solidly built,
Disadvantages: battery access is a bit fiddly

Oh my God, I here you say, not another effects pedal review. Don't worry, there's only one more to go in my collection. As with the other pedals this one has a solid plastic moulding with a slightly awkward to open battery compartment, accessed by pushing in the pedal hinge pins and lifting it off. Much better to use an external power supply, it saves money and broken fingernails. So what does a Chorus pedal do? Well it sits in the line between the guitar and amplifier and alters the signal. Basically it is a modulating effect which adds a slight highlight and a lowlight, to create a softened, even slightly ethereal tone to the sound. There are four controls that allow you to adjust the effect, Level, Tone, Rate and Depth, an input jack and two outputs so that you can use two amplifiers to create stereo effects. The controls ...
