York's voice will haunt you. It'll follow you around when you turn the player off. You'll wake up and you'll hear it in your head and understand the grief in his voice, and understand the emotion in his heart. There are moments when you listen to a fine vocal track that you can feel the singer's attempt at communion with the listener on a more profound level.
Don't think too much. Shut the mind off and let yourself be drawn by the low bass beats and mournful flourishes of Radiohead's world....

Advantages: A Powerfull and Impressive Record By Any Bands Standards Disadvantages: Not Quite Impressive Enough For Me
...In 1993 I heard that what I thought was impossible had happened the original line up of Killing Joke minus drummer Big Paul Ferguson (1) had reformed and were recording and album together. Since this band had formed much of the soundtrack to my adolescence I used to enjoy inflicting Killing Joke on my so called school friends who would complain that the music gave them headaches. I was salivating at the prospect of Jaz Coleman (Vocals and keyboards), Geordie Walker (Guitar) an f Youth (Bass) were making music together I felt at the time that the best Joke album was about to be made, and quite rightly so their 1991 opus "Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions" was a stunning return to form for them, I thought things could only get better.
The hype for the album was unbelievable and rumors that they had recorded parts...

Advantages: Excellent husky vocal performance, a fine display of instrumental power. Disadvantages: A lack of musical diversity is shown here, the tracks are all incredibly similar.
...High On Fire is a three-piece metal band from California. The band formed back in 1999 and to date has released a total of four studio albums. 'Death Is This Communion' is the fourth studio album from the band, an eleven track release which showcases High On Fire's special brand of Viking inspired heavy metal. The bands vocalist Matt Pike has an incredibly distinctive voice, a hearty war cry that can be heard present in every track here and never does the vocal tone of the man disappoint. Instrumentally also the music has much to offer and right from the offset with the track 'Fury Whip' the music is greatly impressive here.
A quick look down the tracklist of this release and the influence of war upon the bands music soon becomes apparent. Viking imagery is often used in the bands lyrics, this is something that works well and always...
