Advantages: fun, interesting, quirky, alternate 60s stuff, makes you want to stand up and sing! Disadvantages: not for some, a little odd,
...Basically one of the albums in the three album collection of bonzo dog band tracks, i got this for about £6 in a HMV sale and to be honest its a steal, im sure it can be got for that price around and about on the net and the whole set for not too much more.
To be honest ii would definately recommend this album and all of this bands works to anyone with a decent taste in music, theres just so much on offer here that one cannot get bored! Including classics that you're bound to have heard like monster mash and urban spaceman along with the even greater, in my opinion, cult classics such as mr appolo and canyons of your mind.
Thiis is an album that you really must listen to, its great for a party or just to have on in the background and the quality is actually quite amazing for something froom the 60s sounding bassically...

old but good Review ofSound Affects - Jam (The)by

Advantages: weller Disadvantages: some
...This is the kind of album which everyone should have in their collection. It is basic and uncomplicated but at the same time very significant. Paul weller is the source of all the magic and his imprint is visible on everything from the beats to the chord progressions. The undisputed gem of the album is ‘that’s entertainment’ – a good to tune to get you moving despite its quite fragile framework of a voice and a sole acoustic guitar. Paul weller has, in my view, produced some better work more recently as a solo artist (stanley road) but if you are a fan of him this raw representation of his earlier work will be a welcome addition to your collection....

Advantages: classy collection of 60's influenced pop Disadvantages: led to Dadrock
...Way back in the heyday of Punk the Jam were always different, - maybe not in the music played but in their love of the 60's. In 95 he released his 3rd solo album which dredged his 60's record collection and gave a modern interpretation of late 60s rock. what is strange however is that he seems to have a lot of Rod the Mod and the Faces in this collection, and uses their goodtime feel and raspy voice to great effect throughout this album
The songs vary stylishly from the "Dadrock" of changing man through the hendrix influenced Walk on gilded splinters to the delicate You do something to me. Whilst the album is of a consistantly high standard, in my opinion, it falls short of being a great album as no track really grabs you.
Aided by a collection of Britpop notables in Ocean Colour Scene, and Noel Gallagher this revived Paul's career...
