Advantages: depression never felt so good Disadvantages: see above
...Without any doubt, this is one of the very finest albums of all time.
A world apart from Faith, in maturity, musicality and insight.
Quite simply sensational, heartpounding ballads, that combine to both lift youre spirits and then let go of them again, very serious lyrics, that will depress the depressive, yet somehow are comforting too.
this mans music is like a drug to anyone sensitive to their surroundings, the world around them, and most of all, human nature.
Musical perfection, rated by many as the best record of all time, including certain london radio DJs.
That was of course, before Older and Patience were released.
DEFINATLEY the best trio of records from one artist EVER.
Always unique, always inspiring, if you dont have this record, you might need to reasses your sensibilities.

Advantages: An overall good album Disadvantages: mildly similar sounding songs
...be on repeat in your head no matter where you are.
The hard thing about writing reviews on albums is everyone is different and has different opinions on music. In my opinion the album goes marginally down from track one it just seems that they put the best song first and the album can't meet the standard set by "time to waste". Don't get me wrong there are some superb tracks on the album though.
"Poison" has some hook in the singing but a quite annoying riff. "Burn" sounds a lot like "Broken home - Papa Roach" and is depressing at best. "Mercy Me" is quite a slow one but a typical trio song and therefore incorporates everything that makes them a great unique band. "Dethbed" is another great song which really gets you moving in the same way track 1 does. "Fall victim", "Back to Hell" and "Your Neck" are songs to listen to. "Smoke" is a good finish...

Advantages: a true avant garde jazz trio Disadvantages: maybe too avant garde in some instances
...When we talk about modern jazz piano trios names like brad mehldau and esbjorn svensson quickly emerge to our minds. But no matter how good the former musicians and their trios are, nevertheless they still have a strong influence by artists like bill evans, keith jarrett and even Chick Corea. In the case of the Bad plus however, we can talk about a new powerful almost punk attitude towards piano trios. Imagine the virtuosity of jazz musicians combined with avant grade innovation and high volumed tunes, all combind in one. The original compositions sound so fresh, with all the rhythmic and harmonic complexity combined in a unique way. Trashy beats and excellent piano unisons create a some kind of trancedental atmosphere. And how about a cover of Nirvana's "smells like teen spirit" for jazz trio? Really interesting....
