...Kind of Blue might have received most of the acclaim but Milestones, the recorded debut of the Miles Davis Sextet, is in the same league. This remarkable super group (featuring Davis's trumpet, tenor-saxophonist John Coltrane, altoist Cannonball Adderley, pianist Red Garland, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones) was arguably the greatest one Miles Davis ever led. "Two Bass Hit" features the two saxes trading off with fire and "Billy Boy" showcases the Red Garland trio (showing what they learned from Ahmad Jamal), but "Straight No Chaser" really demonstrates what a powerhouse band this was....

Advantages: Beuatiful and sweet but also hard and fast . Disadvantages: Can drag a bit on Airportman
...When Bill Berry left R.E.M what exactly did they lose ? Well a drummer , bassist , songwriter and third harmony vocalist . So can they make an album of REM standard without him ? YES THEY CAN . Up is an amazing piece of music diverse and as beautiful as any other REM album . From the opening track "Airportman" to the closer "Falls to climb" you know this REM but not . Most tracks opt for drum machines or simplistic drum tracks and look at the restof the tracks to fill out the sounds . On this album your more likely to se Mike Mills at the piano and Peter buck at bass then in they'r ususal roles . The latter song making good use of a n E-bow guitar riff and the former a pounding song with the kind...

Advantages: Great Band Disadvantages: Slower and more mellow than normal stuff
...New Album from a Welsh band of 5
The singer: Matt Davies
Guitarists: Kris Roberts and Darren
Bassist: Garreth Davies (not related to Matt)
Drummer: Ryan Richards
These 5 started off as a small band and worked there way up and got quite a fan base from the Debut album Casually Dressed and Deep in conversation. They had 3 E.P's before (Between Order and model, Four ways to scream ytour name and seven ways to scream your name) filled with post-hardcore tunes
Now 2005 brings a whole new album for them with the first single being 'Streetcar' that is proven to be popular. This album is called Hours:
This album is very good but it is a lot more mellow than casually dressed and deep in conversation, the heaviest songs are 'All the Rage', 'Roses for the dead' and 'The End of Nothing'
This album has really made funeral for a friend big...
