...Before reviewing this album, anyone will automatically look towards the first album, Leftism, before listening. This has mixed blessings. First, Leftism is a classic. It's slow building poularity, to current multi-platinum status, was due to a mix of basslines, songs and a real progression across the album from chilled to big, bouncy stormers. So Rythm and Stealth was always going to be compared. Should it be Leftism part 2? With about 5 years between albums, this was never likely. Rythm... is a quite dark, dub heavy, big beating bruiser. It has songs, yes, but other than Swords, it's mainly the sheer weight and "size" of the tunes which impacts. But taking this as an album of multiple Phat Planets is wrong too. Rythm... varies from MCing on Africa Shox, to gorgeous female vocals on the aforementioned Swords. So possibly... Read review

Advantages: EVIL!
Disadvantages: Can be too fearsome. It blew one of my speakers.

...This is an album of Electronic dub with a capital E for EVIL! On this cd you will find some of the most evil and sinisterly dirty music you will ever hear. Most albums of electronic dub are designed as chill out albums but i wouldn't want to try it with this one as pissing yourself because the music is giving you the fear never looks good. Admittedly there is a certain kind of 'Hammer horror' quality to a lot of the tracks on this album which does make you laugh but when you have basslines as insistantly satanic as that on the first track 'Mayday/nightstalker' you find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat having a severe case of the willies. When you are not uncontrollably skanking that is. This album does contain vocals in places but mostly it's just some bloke mumbling darkly about the wonders of being very stoned in a classic... Advantages: Good mix of different styles
Disadvantages: You might not love every single track

...Electro Glide in Blue is an awesome and ecclectic mix of two styles - hard-hitting dub/big beat tracks and really chilled ambient tracks. The album cuts between the two styles all the way through, and whilst some may find this difficult to listen to, I like the unpredictability. Musical comparisons are always a little dodgy, but I will dare to compare this album with the mighty Leftfield - Leftism album. It has the same style of cutting between fast, hard-hitting dance tracks and mellow chill-out tunes. If you like Leftfield, or maybe even Fatboy Slim, buy this album. If you're a fan of Apollo's later, more mainstream 'pop' music, I'm not so sure you'll like this album - you'll like a few of the more upbeat tracks like "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Dub" and "Carrer Rapida", but most of the other tracks have a much more ambient flavour...
