Wampyr Having seen Deep Red (Profondo Rosso) American horror creator George Romero contacted Goblin to perform the score for his movie Martyn. The movie told of a young boy who was a Vampire. The film was shown almost in a matter of fact documentary style, almost as if it was a documentary about a child with Diabetes. Goblin's score a kind of rock you till your socks drop off style, which featured loud banging drums, synthesizers and guitars all moving from the subtle to the extreme provided Martyn with dubious menace. The movie was shown in the UK an was considered offensive beyond belief, and was not shown over here again for 20 years. Goblin state that one of the reasons the movie was frowned upon was due... Advantages: The songs, the buzz, the era

...Rocket To Russia is the ultimate pop punk album by the ultimate pop punk combo - Laydeeez and Gennulmen, I give you the Ramones. BRRRRRANGGGG!!! This is punk as it should be paid - a blast of apeeding short pop songs which bite and are so ultimately DUMB that if you read or heard the words without that droning, driving, wonderful music, you'd think a two year old had written them. Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, We're A Happy Family, "The kids are all hopped and ready to go, now, they're ready to go...." These are the real descendants of the Beach Boys, snot nosed punks from America who emerged from CBGB's in the late 70's when the time was absolutely right for their sound and thet were unashamedly pinheads who wanted nothing more than their dumb rocking beautiful noise. Advantages: More top class Ramones songs
Disadvantages: Not as good as their first album.

...Rocket To Russia was released in mid '77, the most memorable year in Punk Rock history. The Ramones were under Sire Records, whom hoped to cash in on new album expecting large sales, most likely why this comes with some of their cleanest and most musically driven songs played yet by the Ramones, still - not forgetting their favourite 3 chords.. Many of their songs in this album come with a more poetry feel to it, considering most of their previous songs were 4 lines repeated over and over. Heres a verse from Locket love: " Lovely lovely locket love You could use a little of Hang a chain around you You're hangin' too Hang on a little bit longer Hang on you're a goner " Out of this album came many of the Ramones classics, inclduding 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker' - 'We're a happy family' - 'Cretin Hop' and 'Rockaway Beach'.
