Hot on the heels of his hosting the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards comes Jimmy Fallon's comedy album debut THE BATHROOM WALL. As with his work as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, Fallon's strength comes from his ability to draw from straight stand-up, hilarious impressions, and deft musical parodies. Wielding an impressive falsetto, the young comic rips through original songs that range from country honk Rolling Stones ("Idiot Boyfriend") to a Beastie Boys-flavored confessional ("[I Can't Play] Basketball"). Equally impressive is "Troll Doll Celebrities," one of his earliest bits where in a fictional audition for an ad campaign endorsing these odd-looking figures, Fallon gets to run through an array of uncanny celebrity impressions including Robin Williams, John Travolta's Vinnie Barbarino. and Adam Sandler. The musical segment of this bit, "Troll Doll Jingles," finds the excitable Saugerties native delivering spot-on parodies of songs by Dave Matthews ("So Much To Say"), U2 ("Desire"), and Coldplay ("Yellow"). This musical mayhem continues on "Hammertime," a segment doubling as an homage to the '80s that finds Fallon insisting any song from that era can be sung to the sound of MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" including "Come On Eileen," "Der Kommisar," and "The Safety Dance."

Advantages: Pleasant enough chick lit, good premise to the story Disadvantages: Characters weren't likeable, not as good as Fallon's subsequent novel
...Having recently read (and thoroughly enjoyed) Jane Fallon's second novel, Got You Back, I looked forward to reading this, her debut novel. I managed to pick up a copy of Getting Rid Of Matthew in a local charity shop, paying only £1.50, rather than the RRP of £6.99, so I got a bargain.
Settling down to read this novel I found myself enjoying the relaxed writing style of Jane Fallon once more. There were some similarities in terms of plot between this and her subsequent novel. Both stories feature a married man having an affair with another woman. In 'Getting Rid of Matthew', the married man is a successful businessman (Matthew) who has been having a long-term affair with one of his employees (Helen) behind his wife's back (Sophie.) In a clever twist, this novel sees the married man leave his wife and children and move in with his...

Advantages: A really good read Disadvantages: None
...I've never written a review on a book before so hope this is ok.
I had already read Getting rid of Matthew by Jane Fallon, last year, and enjoyed it immensly. When I saw this at Gatwick airport last month on a buy one get one half price offer I decided it would be good reading for my short break.
This is the story of three people. James and Stephanie have been married for nine years and have one son called Finn. James is a vet which is how him and Stephanie met when she ran a cat over in her home town of Bristol. Stephanie is a personal shopper and dresser for would be stars. They moved to London so Steph could continue her career, and James spent half the week there with them and working for a vet, and the other half back in Lincolnshire, where he part owned a vets surgery. This is where Katie comes into the story. She...

Advantages: Works well with a little scrubbing Disadvantages: Use a lot at once
...I bought this on recommendation from a friend and colleague, who uses it for cleaning at work as well as at home. She said it does the job where other cleaners are just not good enough, so I promptly went out and bought some. I paid £1.05 in Tesco, which I thought was surprisingly cheap for a big name brand like Cif.
Cif claim that this bathroom mousse gives brilliant results with minimum effort. You just need to spray the mousse on, leave it 5-10 minutes, and rinse it off. It's suitable for use on plastic, enamel and chrome surfaces.
The mousse comes in a tall cylindrical can with a see-through lime green domes lid. The top has the usual mousse-can spray, with a button at one side of the nozzle, which you just press down and out squirts the mousse. It's really easy to use and to direct the spray where you want it.
It's easy...
