Unfortunately the cover itself I don't find eye catching or memorable. It seems like they've tried the simplistic approach, which has been done/seen before. It has a close resemblance to the album covers done by coldplay in the past, like X&Y and Parachutes. However I do feel like they are introducing it at the perfect time, with their british appearance at the Leeds and Reading festival coming up in the next couple of weeks, they may be able to test this albums' success at those festivals. I do like the music on this album, it is difference to their old music, and i'm guessing that die-hard placebo fans may possibly detest it, as they seem to have lost their ever so characteristic droaney voice, which has made them Placebo. Battle for the Sun itself, has an absolutely brilliant opening and is crazily attention seeking. I think it has high potential and may possibly attract a new group of fans, as their old music used to fall into the genre of grunge ever so slightly. But their new music does merge into the indie scene. The lyrical depth to most of the songs is rather lacking, but they are attention grabbing, so for that, i will not criticise the meaningless of the lyrics. They have not lost their use of guitars, but in this album, deffinately seem to be playing them more melodically. From this album I think i would categorize them more with the likes of Kings of leon and The Killers, rather than with the likes of Aidan, which I used to assosciate them with. Personally, i feel they have made a good choice to have this quirky twist, finally i feel they have realised that their is a larger audience with this new group of bands they have crossed over to, than the previous rock/hardcore genre that they used to peform.

Advantages: There are a couple of good songs and promise for others... Disadvantages: Just too many bland tracks to be a good album; repetitive and altogether dull
