...This is a great soundtrack, fully evoking the strength and grandeur of the film. The cd has some truly exhilarating moments and features some excellent playing, in particular the lyrical trumpet playing - as a brass student at the RCM I should know!
Hans Zimmer constantly produces excellent scores, I was hooked from Backdraft (the best soundtrack ever) and even the Lion King was acceptable thanks to his evocative orchestral writing.
The choice of wordless lyrics for the singer added to the ancient rome-evoking feel of the soundtrack and the fierce rhythms in the battle music were precisely correct....

As sexy as any BRA Review ofBentley RhythmAce - Bentley RhythmAceby
mattmorrison
Advantages: Disadvantages:
...This self-titled debut album is not exactly uncategorisable but it certainly branches off from the dance genre in a direction rarely seen before. Mad sound effects, comic noises, old samples and bizarre loops are all order of the day with this album from Bentley RhythmAce. This album experiments with unknown styles of dance music that can be best described as 'mad' or possibly 'bonkers'. This unimitable style that BRA have built up is what really makes the album. It's truly hilarious, even though I don't think it is trying to be, and features such tracks as "Return of the Hardcore Jumble Carbootechnodisco Roadshow", "Ragtopskodacarchase" and "Who put the Bom in the Bom Bom Diddleye Bom"... incredible! I'm surprised that BRA have managed to make every track sound different considering that there can surely only be a limited amount...

Huge mix disc Review ofFSUK Vol.3 (The Future Sound Of The United Kingdom/Mixed By Bently RhythmAce) - Various Artistsby
billdaily
Advantages: Great tracks, humourous, long lasting Disadvantages: Who are these artists?
...I bought this having been a huge Bentley RhythmAce fan, and I have to say its worth every penny. Kicking off with Jefferson Airplane, the dreamy mystical track merges with Fatboy Slim's Es Paradis, the carnival bouncy fun track which oddly enough ends up being Betty Boo's Doing the Do! Most of the tracks here aren't very well know (well I've never heard of Tiny Lion!), but this is for the best, as hearing new stuff is good for us all! I would recommend buying this as it IS a great cd and one you'll listen to again and again, as this two cd set is a very long laster!...
