Keane are a band that have hit the headlines in recent times with two successful singles and a number one album. They might still be new to a lot of people but they have been around for some time, they started out as a four piece band called 'The Lotus Eaters' in 1997. They changed their name to Keane (named after their nanny, Cherry Keane) and released their first two singles 'Call Me What You Like' and 'Wolf At The Door' in 2000 which both proved to be flops even though both are now changing hands for over 400 pounds each, at this time they were even supporting Chesney Hawkes of all people! ...'The Lost Riots' is the debut album from Chichester band Hope Of The States. A gigantic acheivement of a record that can only confirm them as one of the most important bands this country has produced in the last 5 years.
In the summer of 2003, the band released a limited edition single of 500 copies called 'Black Dollar Bills' that became the years most-wanted item around muso collectors and set critics rambling about a "new Radiohead" and a band of truly epic potential. Writers waxed lyrical about a band that had created an anthem on the scale of 'I Am The Resurection' for an audience paranoid, suspicious and frustrated by world events and the general state of world affairs.
