Be Here Now - Oasis
In retrospect, it's hard to see how Oasis could have possibly equalled the hype

Advantages: everything, its amazing Disadvantages: Johnny Depp on track 7
...In 1997 Oasis returned with this "Be herenow", an album that was universally slated, for being too much, too big, and too soon.
For me its my favourite Oasis album, its different, and i love that its so big. The album opens with D'you know what i mean, a cracking song with big guitar solos loads of effects and a typically catchy oasis chorus.

Advantages: A few very high quality songs Disadvantages: No new breakthroughs
...Owning all of the Oasis albums as I do I feel I am in a position to compare accurately. I feel that the 3rd album "Be HereNow" is bright and colourful although it has no new songwriting breakthroughs. It is very enjoyable listening with songs such as "Stand By Me", "I Hope, I Think, I Know" and "Don't Go Away" being the highlights of the album. The music varies from pop through to rock throughout the album. The rock however is not fast but slower, heavier and more steady. The album provides a great deal of easy listening. There is barely a bad song on this album and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality album for their money....
