Here is one of the best openers to an album ever. Kt has a Jazz-based compoistion, in which Derrick Hodge kicks things off with the bass, prior to when James Poyer comes in on the keys, and this is followed by Kanye on the beats. It is all ended off with big rhymes from Common.

After a three-year break, Common came back in 2005 under the wing of the newcomer, Kanye West, whose G.O.O.D. Music record label helped to re-launched the underground, alternative Hip Hop MC, Common's career. The Chicagan gets 'Ye on all but two of the tracks, which are produced by the late J Dilla.
1. "Be"
Here is one of the best openers to an album ever. Kt has a Jazz-based compoistion, in which Derrick Hodge kicks things off with the bass, prior to when James Poyer comes in on the keys, and this is followed by Kanye on the beats. It is all ended off with big rhymes from Common.
**Five Stars**
2. "The Corner"
For me, this is a stand-out track off the album, and one you should look out for. On this, the second single, and in it you get Common depicting the highy detrimental activities which go on at "The Corner". Just about everything seems to go on here, and with the aid of the spoken-word poets, The Last poets, COmmon gets this across to the listener, showing the dangers which the vulnerable face each day when passing by it.
**Five Stars**
3. "Go!"
This was my favourite single off the album, and it has Common work increbily well with Kanye on some lively beats. It has them do a tune about amibitions and be proactive in doing what is needed to aspire to them. With so many great singles here, it has to be a killer, and it most definately is.
**Five Stars**
4. "Faithful"
This one may be familar to you as it was featured at the end of the video for one of the big singles, and ended tup being the final one too. In it, you get Common with some thought-provoking words after being inspired by the thought of God being female, and how this makes hhim feell (even questioning his faith).
**Four Stars**
5. "Testify"
I'm sure that this will be seen as one of the best tracks off the album, and with its amazing production by 'Ye, you would have to say its true as he always finds the right samples for his work. In this case he gives Common the perfect foundations for a concept tune.
**Five Stars**
6. "Love Is"
I can't say that I was too fond of this one, however at times I had to enjoy the way that Common delivered his lines as he would switch it up with a little flurry of words in between what is a generally low-paced one. In it, the concept of love is manipulated by the artist in the way which he knows bst.
**Three Stars**
7. "Chi-City"
Common reps his hometown of Chicago in this one, and its as simple as that. Some may see it as a filler, as its quite easy to whip up souch a tune, however he maanges to do it so well that you don't tend to think of it this way.
**Four Stars**
8. "The Food"
On this open Kanye raps with the MC, and the pair seem to work off each other's hype to come up with a banger of a recording. Although this one wasn't that successful in the charts (in fact not getting on them) the single is looked up to as one of the best here as they manage to excite you on a soft sample of "I Never Had It So Good".
**Four Stars**
9. "Real People"
This one has Common perform on some smooth, jazzy production from 'Ye once again, and it leads to him coming out with a low-energy, yet high intensity track from Comm, in which he is able to distinguish a difference in all people, and how they can be categorised simply as 'fake' and 'real', from which, he is able to a trakc for the latter set, who are more socially aware.
**Three Stars**
10. "They Say"
Here is a big tune, as we get towards the end of the album, and it has all the top acts from G.O.O.D (Kanye, John Legend and Common) coming out with a track to suit all their individual tastes, obviously having the Soul singer John Legend controlling things with his vocal performance.
**Four Stars**
11. "It's Your World"
To end the album off you get a two-parter, the second of which has Commons father, as on mos tof his earleir albums, doing a little spoken-word poetry. For the first half though, in a more musical one, one get a soft tune, in which Common and Bilal do the majority of the work to motivate the listener.
**Three Stars**
Thsi album was seen as the one to get Common into the mainstream of Hip Hop, although still considered alternative, the Chicagan become more easily-accepted by a larger audience of listners. Thsi album contains all his biggest singles, and a few bangers whcihc went unreleased, so I advise you should get this as there is something for everyone on this album.

11. It's Your World (Part 1 & 2)
Track 1: Be (Intro)- This intro has got to be one of the best intros i've heard on a cd, honestly. It starts off with a bass playing a little hook and then all the intsruments and other sounds slowly get added on top until you've got one hell ... ...chorus is brilliant and you'll be humming it everywhere as i know i do. Overall this is a brilliant track which i'll be listening to for a long time to come!
Track 4: Faithful- John Legend and Bilal feature on this track and it's another good one. The guitar riff in the back is brill and the piano goes well with Commons vocal lyrics. The chorus is different but in a good way. It's one of those voices like in through the wire but more bearable.

Album Notes
After fusing hip-hop, rock, and soul on 2002's THE ELECTRIC CIRCUS, Chicago rapper Common returned three years later with BE. Like its two-letter title, BE is much leaner, consisting of 11 pure hip-hop tracks marked by Common's enlightened, contemplative, easy-flowing lyrics. Although the album is more streamlined, it's not predictable or unoriginal, as the beats unfold with the same combination of rawness and melodic energy that made Kanye West's debut so uncommonly engaging. This is no coincidence--West is present throughout much of BE, producing all but two of the songs here. West even appears on one of the disc's highlights, "The Food," with some expert freestyle rhyming as captured live on CHAPPELLE'S SHOW. Common's confident, yet constantly searching, demeanor and his poetic instinct for just the right words bonds him to the heritage of hip-hop, a point hit home by the presence of rap legends the Last Poets on "The Corner." Common is always slightly and endearingly unsure, and his self-deprecation seeps out on "Love Is..." and "Faithful." However, he has the inner power to garner attention, as evident on the smooth party jam "GO" (featuring John Mayer). BE is Common at his unaffected, commanding best.
