Advantages Lovely songs
Disadvantages not so good if you've never seen the film.
This cd is the soundtrack from the film of the same name.
It is a very sad film starin Bette Midler and Barbra Hershey. It is a very sad story about two best friends. So this cd is also quite sad music, to go along with the story line. There are some faster songs, but not many.
This cd was first brought out in 1988, when the film was released. It's a Atlantic records label, so is american based. All the vocals on the album are sung by Bette Midler herself. So if you are a bette midler fan, you may like this even if you haven't seen the film.
~~~~~There are only ten songs on this cd. It lasts just over half an hour. So you could just put it on if you haven't much time. Quite alot of the songs are cover versions. But Bette midler does them justice.
~~~~~~~1/ Under the boardwalk. (4.19 mins)
This is a well known track. It is quite a jolly song, but very good for chilling out to on a hot summers day. It's about lazing on the beach on a hot summers day, without a care in the world. I quite like this one.2/ Wind beneath my wings (4.53 mins)
I think everyone knows this song. It is a very slow, sad song. It could have you in tears, so get the hankies ready. If you've seen the film, this is the song that plays at the end when hillary makes her sad departure. A song for someone you fell is your rock, who stands by you through thick and thin. I love this song, it is one of my favourites.3/ I've still got my health (1.29 mins)
This is a very short annoying song. It is quite jazzy, but not one that will get your feet tapping. It's about the fact that know matter if you have money or not, as long as you've got your health, then you will be ok.4/ I think it's going to rain today. (3.30 mins)
Sad song. It's about a depressing sort of day, when nothing seems to be going well, and you just know it's going to be a bad day. Nice song,5/ Otto titsling. (3.12 mins)
This is a mad song about a man (otto titsling) who invented the over the shoulder bolder holder (bra). Quite an amusing song, But can be rather annoying. especially when you have all these sad songs, then this comes on. Spoils the mood slightly.6/ I know you by heart (4.39 mins)
This song is a bit more upbeat than some of the others and not quite as depressing. It's about knowing a friend very well, and knowing just how they are feeling and thinking.7/ The glory of love (3.14 mins)
This is quite an old song. jolly and one you can sing along to. I like singing this one to my children. it's about all the good points of loving someone.8/ Baby mine (2.06 mins)
Another sad song. It's a slow sweet song, about standing by someone. mainly a child i would say. To let them know they will never be alone. I like this one. another tear jerker.9/ Oh industry (4.05 mins)
Stupid song. It's very annoying, and once again doesn't fit in with the rest of the album. In the film, the character was in a play when this song was sung. I haven't a clue what it's about.10/ The Friendship theme (1.
