Advantages: The most powerful Batman score ever composed; an Elfman classic all the way Disadvantages: So what if it isn't the most sophisticated score in the world?
By the late 1980's, Batman was still pretty much considered as being a rather hokey and campy, as well as exceedingly silly, TV series made in the 1960s. The bright Gotham City, the easy-going and wooden Bruce "Batman" Wayne (Adam West), the constantly "holying" Dick "Robin" Grayson (Burt Ward), and the untroubled histories of the "Dynamic Duo" were a far cry from the original comic books on which it was based. However, a decided change came when director Tim Burton decided to make a feature film of Batman. Burton, always with a penchant for the macabre and dark, made Batman much more closer to the claustrophobic, brooding, and sinister style of the comics. Burton's Gotham City was a dark and decadent metropolis of gloomy skyscrapers, wet streets, and long shadows, with evil seemingly spawning at every dark corner.

Advantages: A chance to see three of the best actors ever, together. Disadvantages: See opinion.
, but eventually wins him over thanks to his knowledge of the buildings interior. What follows the set up is a riveting and utterly engrossing theft and finale, but unfortunately you have to sit through an hour of mindless ‘crook dialogue’ to get there. All the details of the plan wouldn’t have been so hard to listen to if it weren’t for Brando. Can’t someone get him a speech therapist or something? He sounds like he’s trying to swallow a spoon of peanut butter, God only knows what early takes must have been like… Brando: “I wanyu ta thteal me a theptre, Ok?” De Niro: You talkin to me?
Basically every element of The Score is found within another movie, and despite some great set pieces the whole thing is stilted and lacks the pace required to keep us interested. The film is sloppily ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of The Score (DVD)
Advantages: good cast, well shot, entertaining Disadvantages: slow pace will deter some people, nothing new
't get a lot of great roles but really should as she's a class act all the way.
The film isn't action packed by Jerry Bruckheimer standards. The pacing unfolds slowly and you see the planning and verbal sparring however once the score get's underway there is some real tension as this elaborate plan unfolds even though you know something is bound to happen to make the plot twist. You know it's going to happen and it's no surprise when it does but you want to know who finally get's the upper hand.
So to wrap up this is a well-made film that will entertain. There's nothing original but most films aren't and this recognises this but get's a decent cast and decent script. If you're someone who can't handle a film that doesn't have crash, bang action throughout then wait for video but I for one enjoyed it.
One last thing on the pacing ...
