Life was just so much simpler back then - listen to this com0pilation of the Beatles singles between 1962 and 1966 (the so called red album) and yoy could be in a different world - classic pop, totally uncluttered and simple, very memorable stuff. There's been 1001 different compilation albums over the years but for me you can't do better than this and 1967-70, the companion album of their later stuff. No hype, no liner notes, just the music. It cam eout in 73, not long after their split and simply presents the music. You've got a cover shot of the boys in their early years, a reshot of the same scene, but ten years later, a large photo of the band with the public in the middle and that's it. You forget exactly what body of work the band were responsible for and there's so much stuff here like Norwegian Wood that didn't catch the memory, but are wonderful pop music at its best. Even the very early stuff have their charm and are captivating. Buy this
