Once upon a time, in Liverpool...

Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working

a fan of these; in the past I?ve ended up dropping the audio headsets or breaking them but I was determined not to do so on this occasion...just for a change! THE ATTRACTION As you walk around The Beatles Story, you really do get a good sense of the impact that the band had upon the world and it is really easy to get caught up in the nostalgia of the place. There are many ways in which the museum has succeeded in doing this, with one of them being the audio sets. With the narration being recorded by Lennon?s sister Julia, as you walk around the exhibitions you will find numbers that once you type into the little handset, you will (hopefully) hear a recollection or account from that specific time in the Beatles? career. A Day In The Minds Of The Beatles.

Advantages: The epitome of an era and a generation.
Disadvantages: Probably won't be as greatly regarded by future generations....

Once Upon a Time This Would Have Been Better

Advantages: Pullman's creative style / Detailed World / Reliving some of the HDM Magic
Disadvantages: Short and Insignificant Story / Lack of real interraction between the two main characters

Philip Pullman is a man of great talent. A man so focused on giving his readers something that little bit extra than your average author. His worlds are rich in detail and his characters, greatly developed and life like. Often compared to CS Lewis, he is a man with countless works to his name, which sadly are underrated. His latest book, Once Upon a Time in the North, revisits the world best known from His Dark Materials Trilogy. It is in fact a sort of prequel to Northern Lights (The Golden Compass), but with only 104 pages, does it have enough substance to capture the attention of his loyal fan base?
