Even better the second time round. Ever since their fabulous comeback Take That have been very successful. I'm a big fan of them because to me they just seem to be having a really great time together. You can tell that they enjoy making music and it seems somewhat effortless to me.
Take That are made up of four guys from Manchester, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen. They first came out in the early 90's and I have to say that I was a fan then and am still a fan now. I do think it's funny when I see the kids now who have only known them as a new band and feel priveledged to know that I liked them first time around too. Take That are now the most successful boyband to have reunited in history and are the best selling UK live pop act in history. I am not a crazed fan, I never cried when they broke up or never really had their t-shirts, posters on my wall etc but I do think they are a great, fun band. I saw them live about two years ago and I have to say it was one of the best concerts I have been to. They just looked like they were having a really great time and were really entertaining the crowd
Their album, Beautiful World tells us that it really is a beautiful world. To me this album is typical Take That, fun pop but with a classic take. In fact Take That say themselves that this album is a "Throwback to the 90's with a modern twist. The album was released on November 27th 2006. What I find incredible is that even though it had only been released for just over a month it still was the second best selling album of 2006 in the UK. This just goes to show how much people love Take That. The album has now sold over 3 million copies worldwide and has gone 9x platinum. THe stand out songs that have been successful on this album are Shine (which is the song played on the Morrisons Television Adverts) and Patience. In fact, Patience which is the lead single from the album won 'Best British Single' at the 2007 Brit Awards and the second single Shine won 'Best British Single' at the 2008 BRIT Awards a year later. They are probably my two favourite songs along with Beautiful World. I didn't really like the song Mancunian Way, to me it was a bit too northern. Even though they are from MAnchester they seemed to put on really strong accents for this song and for me it just didn't work. The rest of the songs on the album are as follows:
1. Reach Out 2. Patience 3. Beautiful World 4. Hold On 5. Like I Never Loved you at all 6. Shine 7. I'd Wait for Life 8. Ain't no Sense in Love 9. What you Believe In 10. Mancunian Way 11. Wooden Boat Bonus Track - Butterfly
