Advantages: Great material. That Smell Disadvantages: Deaths three days later
I doubt Few album releases in History have ever been like the release for Lynyrd Skynyrd's fifth album Street Survivors. The reason is just three days after the release the band were involved in a Plane crash that killed the following Ronnie Van Zant, New guitarist Steve Gaines and his sister Cassie Gaines as well as the pilot, co pilot and the bands assistant road manager. Guitarist Gary Rossington's injuries were so severe that he had steel rods fitted in his right arm and leg. He suffered broken bones to both arms, both legs, both wrists, both ankles and his pelvis,

The original cover you see with the review was replaced out of respect for the deceased members of the band due to the flames around the band in the picture. This album was the first and only Lynyrd Skynyrd album that Steve Gaines featured on after ...
Advantages: Beautiful, dark, interesting Disadvantages: Not a commercial sound
The very fact that Dance Hall at Louse Point (which was released in 1996) has been listed on Ciao since 2003 and yet this is the first review is indicative of this way that this album was released, promoted and received. It was released just as PJ Harvey was riding the crest of the wave of success of the album 'To Bring You My Love', but it seemed to go almost unnoticed, perhaps because top bill went to John Parish (who wrote and played the music, whilst PJ Harvey wrote the lyrics and sang vocals) and she was listed as Polly Jean Harvey rather than the usual PJ Harvey we know and love her as. Critics saw it as an art experiment, reviews of it are mixed, but to me it retains that bluesy rock sound that we know PJ Harvey for and is a beautiful and oddly crafted album of dark moods, angular guitar and percussion and an array of vocal styles ...
Advantages: Great music Disadvantages: Not as good as their best
days after the release of Street Survivors in the plane crash. Without a third guitarist there were without their trademark three guitar sound that had been key to their success over the first years.

**My View**
The title track "Gimme Back my Bullets" get's things off to a great start with a song that is one of those songs that people debate about what it's really about, It's not actually about Guns but about the charts and wanting to get your material back on the radio. You will hear a similar rift with the track MCA about their record company.
Next up is "every mothers son" which is a flowing track ...

Album Notes
Hall & Oates: Daryl Hall, John Oates. Originally released on AFLI (2300). All tracks have been digitally remastered. A big departure from their trademark blue-eyed Philly Soul sound, BEAUTY finds Hall and Oates edging closer and closer to guitar-driven rock. The one big exception here is the title track, a beautiful soul song in their best "She's Gone" style, with a gorgeous string section coda. "Winged Bull," on the other hand, is a droning, quasi Middle Eastern-sounding folk rocker obviously modeled on Led Zep's "Kashmir." Even further afield, "You Must Be Good For Something" is a dissonant bit of proto-New Wave pop, complete with tick-tock rhythm (a la the Cars), while "Bad Habits and Infections," is a prog-rock mini-suite in a style not too dissimilar from Yes.
