...Soulwax are four guys and one girl from Belgium (Stephen, David, Stephane, Inge and Stefaan), and are not like anything I have heard before. They came to my attention after they supported Muse, and I went to a Wannadies gig just to see Soulwax supporting them. I was very pleased to hear some of the best songs I have ever heard, performed by very talented musicians, with some great on-stage effects, such as flashing mic-stands. An incredibly eclectic mix of rockin' guitar riffs, melodic keyboards, powerful bass and awesome vocals, Soulwax are impossible to define. Their 2nd full-length album, "Much Against Everyone's Advice" (only album released in the UK) has brought them successful sales and their live shows have earned a terrific following. Advantages: Very catchy and still coldplay
Disadvantages: you need to listen to it a few times it grows on you.

...When i first listened to this cd i was not impressed at all but after listening to it a few times i really love it and have found myself humming the tunes. Coldplay have had such successful albums before it must be difficult to live up to everyones expectations when a new album is due, to come up with new material while trying to stay up to date with changing times and tastes but i feel they have done this, they still sound like coldplay but the album has a celtic feel to it and the album reflects that they have grown older in its subject matter and sometimes feels a bit "heavy" but on the whole has just the same knack of getting into your head and staying there. ...into a feeder-esc verse, which it glides through with ease, mutating into a rather groovy guitar solo before hitting hard with the chorus. "I need a better way/ Need a better way" Well the change over here is quite good enough I feel. The chorus is catchy and proves that this was a good strong choice for the opening track. Six hard drum beats and the main solo section kicks in which lasts more or less for the next 1.45 minutes. With the chorus popping in and out. The song ends with a great solo/band instrumental. This is music with body; it's not just verse-chorus-verse. Flavour of the Weak- One of my favourite songs on the album. It is lyrically great as well as musically. The lyrics aren't deep or meaningful; they are just great rock-pop lyrics. The song tells the story of a girl, whose boyfriend doesn't give a shit about her and would rather get... Read review
