Advantages: Good songs Disadvantages: Only a few songs
...the enduring value of the Pet Shop Boys--that their albums can sit on the shelves for some time and lose none of their luster. Originally written by Chicago-House artist Sterling Void, this song was revitalised, had some new lyrics inserted, and became a hit for the Pet Shop Boys, their last for over a year, until 'Behaviour' and its attendant singles began to be released late in 1990.
It also has an interesting remix of 'Always on my mind', the remake of the classic song the Pet Shop Boys released as an addendum to the 'Actually' album. This version of the song is not quite so over-the-top and brassy, but still every beat of a disco song, with long sustained tracks and even a proto-rap section with Neil Tennant trying to expand on the lyrics. Very innovative if not entirely successful, this version occasionally pops up on dance floors...

Advantages: Everything about it Disadvantages: none
...It sometimes happens that a book or a film manages to capture the mood of a particular time. In one single piece of work the ideas, feel and cultural attitudes of the day are encapsulated. Kerouac's novel 'On the Road' or James Dean's film 'Rebel Without a cause became synonymous with the whole youth movement of 50's post-war America. ***MY OPINION***
This album is 1 of the many Small Faces compilations, you must have 1 if you are anyone. I listened to another on tape before purchasing this 1 (The complete collection). The booklet that comes as a companion to the CD gives all essential information on the band and a must for any UK rock historian pictures and all. The Ultimate Collection has all the essential listening for a review of the band including some of the more obscure. The bands website at www.makingtime.co.uk/rfr is definately worth checking out it has mention of the Small faces convention...
