Advantages: Packed full of feel good songs! Disadvantages: Could get repetative!
...16. After
1. Before - A mini compilation of song outtakes merging together. Only lasts a few seconds, but I find nicely sets the pace as to what's to come…..
2. Play It Loud (featuring The Halo Friendlies.) - Not the best song on the album by far. However, a quick bouncy song.
3. Well Adjusted - One of my favourites to sing along too, somewhat a teen angst song with a feel good factor, good to let out ... ...It's Alright (featuring Benji Madden from Good Charlotte.) - A catchy summer song, a nice tune and sound throughout.
5. Brokenhearted (featuring Kris Roe from The Ataris.) - Punchy intro, thrown full throttle into the feel of the song. As the title of this particular song, it's about being brokenhearted, but not a soppy tune, more of something to chuckle at - "I'm not crying, I got something in my eye.."
For those who are fans of pop punk at it's best, for fans of New Found Glory, Green Day, The Ataris, Good Charlotte, No Use For A Name, NoFx, etc.
This in short has to be a definite summer album! With 16 tracks (really 14 in full) - 6 of which are featuring other artists aswell!
The CD features a full coloured 8 page inlay, featuring photos of the 3 band members, aswell as all the songs lyrics. Nicely laid out. Especially good for those of you who like to sing along ;o).
The CD is also enhanced, consisting of links to a website in which shows you how the CD was made, and how it was recorded, aswell as been able to read thoughts from all the members whilst the CD was being Produced on what it was like to write, record and finish the album. It also consists of Screen Savers, Buddy Icons and Wallpapers, exclusive to this CD only.
The tracks are as follows….

6. First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life - A good song to bop about too.
7. Everything Sucks When You're Gone - I'm a great fan of the beginning of this song, after the second verse, I end up switching off as I find it starts to get hugely repetitive….
8. Quit Your Life - My personal favourite, mainly as it has a different sound, not only because it's slow and on the verge of a ballad ( :oP ), but the words hit me on a personal level, and it's something we can all relate to when we're in love, arrrr….
9. More Everything - Good lyrics - upbeat song, all round nice tune…
10. Kings Of Hollywood (featuring Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory.) - A different sound to the songs up til' now, when voices kick in, nice harmony with the featured artist. This is another kicking summer song…
11. The Captiol - Another of the few crappy songs. Isn't one that you will remember after listening to the entire album.
12. On The Outs (featuring Benji Madden from Good Charlotte.) - Slow intro, then a sudden kick in, good for the boys whos trying to win back a girl :o)
13. Don't Walk Away - A soft soppy song.
14. You Make Me, Me - A fast floor stomping song, a good sing a long one, can't resist put toe tapping or head jigging to this!
15. You're Not Alone (featuring Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory.) - Final song to a ride of emotional songs, it's quick paced and yet another feel good song!
16. After - Another merged compilation of snippets, sounds as if tuning in a radio..has a long pause, then a similar thing happens. Longer than the opening track 'Before', this closes the album, and is a nice play on the albums title 'Before Everything & After'

Album Notes
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. MxPx: Mike Herrera (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, piano, synthesizer, bass); Tom Wisniewski (acoustic & electric guitars); Yuri Ruley (drums, percussion). Additional personnel includes: The Halo Friendlies, Benji Madden, Kris Roe, Jordan Pundik. Recorded at El Dorado Studios, Burbank, California. A lot is made of MxPx's Christian beliefs and lyrical themes, but one listen to BEFORE EVERYTHING & AFTER reveals a band whose positive outlook differs little from legendary NYC hardcore straight-edge combos like Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits in practice. In addition, the group performs with a relaxed confidence and professionalism unmatched by few rock bands of any religious inclination. Though the album cover shows the group members sporting more tattoos than a ship full of drunken sailors just back from leave, the music contained on the disc is all good-time mosh-pit fun. Not content to rest on its laurels, however, the band branches out into emo territory, with several songs ("Quit Your Life," "On the Outs") reveling in personal and romantic subject matter that's definitely more adult than one would expect from a band most often associated with skateboarding junior high schoolers.
