Advantages: great selection, good variety Disadvantages: somehow mistitled, mostly traditional stuff
Rough Guide, best known for their budget travel guides, has been steadily expanding in other areas, and has been responsible for quite a few musical "guides" over the years.
This 1998 album, marketed as "Rough Guideto the Music of Eastern Europe", does pretty much exactly what is says on the package: provides quite a wide ranging overview of folk and (occasionally) folk-inspired music of Eastern Europe. This is an album that pretty much started my liking for "world music" coming from my part of the world, and despite its age it remains a good compilation which really does showcase the variety of what's on offer quite well.
One thing that this "Rough Guide" album needs is perhaps a better definition of what is considered Eastern Europe: this is a surprisingly woolly category (I always remember somebody commenting than Poland ...
Advantages: has alot of their well known songs, and some great lesser known ones Disadvantages: they have left off quitea few of their singles
A compilation spanning all seven studio albums, an album which has alot of their famous singles e.g. parklife, song 2, beetlebum, and has the non album single popscene, plus alot of classic album tracks that the casual listener might have not heard. This double album has 25 songs and covers all of their sound from the early days of the leasure with shes so high the brit pop years with girls & boys, for tomorrow, advert and the universal, and also their final albums with trimm trabb and out of time.
In my personal opinion it is a very good album with exelent music showing blurs different styles over the years butjust as they did on their 2000 compilation the best of they have left out a few of their famous and i dare say most loved singles on this album such as country house, theres no other way M.O.R. and to the end to name a few ...

Many people have been influenced by the scarface film and the rap genre has especially referenced to it man songs. This is now an official compilation of songs with money, power and respect themes. as you would imagine, all are rap.
Put together in 2003, this def jam idea includes songs by Nas, Mobb Deep and Notorious BIG, some made especially for the album some old tracks that just fit. None appear in the film but there are samples and dialouge used from the picture.
Tracks
Its Mine - Mobb Deep & Nas. Scarface cues used as the sample in this one which was originally put t ogether in 99. A good relevant track to start the album
Yeo - Cam'ron. Samples Rush Rush which is used in the film, rush rush get the yayo may be more familiar. best bit about the song is actually the sample with cam'rons raps not adding much but loads ...
