Does The Beatles debut album really 'Please Please Me'?

Advantages: The bands epic debut album; a fantastic set of songs with memorable vocal efforts
Disadvantages: Some of the tracks are a bit so-so; it's still the early Beatles so not overly complex

Debut albums are funny things; a good debut album can make or break an artist, defining their genre, style and audience in one hit. So, imagine the weight on The Beatles? shoulders when their first album ?Please Please Me? was released in the spring of 1963, rushed to capitalize on the group?s remarkable popularity with hits including the song of the same name and ?Love Me Do?. Recorded in three, three hour sessions all in one day in late February, ?Please Please Me? is arguably The Beatles at their rawest, before hours would be spent fiddling and rejuvenating tracks for commercial release to include a vast array of synth and orchestral sounds. The Beatles first album included many tracks that had only being recorded in a handful of takes and because of the simple use of guitars, pianos, drums and vocals, there wouldn?t need to be ...

Charles Dance's Directorial Debut

Advantages: Dames Judi Dench & Maggie Smith, cinematography, subtle character study
Disadvantages: Dance's directorial inexperience occasionally shows, slow pacing will alienate some viewers

Ladies in Lavender is a charming film set in Cornwall in an idyllic town, shortly before WWII broke out. The elderly Widdington sisters, Ursula (strangely non-British name?!?) and Janet lead a sedate life, though Ursula has a zest for life that remains undiminished by the years. When a Polish man is found on the beach one day, presumably from a shipwreck though no wreckage is ever found, it stirs forgotten emotions in Ursula as they nurse him back to health. This begins to cause friction between the two sisters, and when Andrea (the Polish guy) exhibits a special talent, even more tension is caused by the interest of German painter Olga, who is ostensibly just on holiday there, though others have suspicions that she is not what she seems. This film is Charles Dance (veteran of many TV series) directorial debut, and though this shows ...

YES. I do believe in life after death.

Advantages: Maintain a belief throughout your life that will help you
Disadvantages: The pain and loss.

Tuesday.(Caused by a head on collision. the drunk driver is still alive in hospital) My married cousin was 7 mths pregnant with her family's fourth. The baby had not been crushed, but hastened on in this world essentially life saving birth by c-section as the new born's mother, lay, slipping away into coma on the operating trolley.. A dear thing with a shock of red hair, burst into this world in a severely critical condition. He isn't expected to live. If he lives, brain damage-but there is hope-a 20-30% chance of survival. He has three other siblings..all under 7 yrs old. The two youngest are staying at mine whilst the father recovers from the shock in hospital. (breakdown)apparently my cousin that I did not know that well, had asked for me(?)momments before her death. My poem is about her-and her lovely children. Forgive the length of this ...
