'Ben Folds Five', quite possibly the most innovative band that walked this earth....to put it in the words of a simpleton...'they're great'. 'Ben Folds Five', a band originating from North Carolina (yes, the US), consists of 3 talented band members - Ben Folds (pianist and overall genius/'the leader of the pack'), Robert Sledge (bass) and finally the drummer (his name i forget - then again though, he is a drummer,how am I supposed to remember!). They're music, sheer beauty. They're melody being that of a sort of mixture of alternative/piano jazz/soft rock...though my description may sound unappealing to most of you...trust me (and I know you do!),whoever you are,whatever your music taste,you'll love it. Their debut album (no title), shows straight away, where they're going with this and who they are. The foundations of they're music being very much emphasised. Their second album ('Whatever and Ever,Amen') is fantasmic. Songs I very stongly suggest you listen to are that of 'Brick' and 'Kate'. Third album? Well yes, in a way, 'Naked Baby Photos'. A compilation of their first two albums live in numerous venues throughout the US and Japan. Finally? Yes their fourth album - 'The Unauthorised Biography of Rheinhold Meisner'. Excellent, perhaps softer in a sense than their previous 3...but still innovative and 'rockin' throughout. Suggestions from the album? 'Magic', 'Army', 'Mess'. Overall suggestions? 'Emaline', 'Alice Childress' etc etc etc In short all their albums consist of fun, sometimes live, and innovative (I can't stress that enough) compositions. But their albums. Buy them. Buy them. Buy them. Trust me, Buy them. And if you like good alternative piano music, Ben Folds himself is the one you want. You'll love them. Its all about the peachy music and the fun.
