Advantages: You get a free rock map..Woohoo! Disadvantages: Its not the rock you get at the seaside...
...Of Dreams
This is the last song you'll be glad to know.It was taken from the Bentout of Shape album, released in 1983.I was one year old then.We still have JL Turner singing on this little number.
This song has a great rhythm to it.Light guitar sounds and JL manages to restrain his huge voice to light yell.
I am listening to this now,and it is really good. The chorus is a little chilling. It makes me think of being dead,God knows why! Well I have been hunched over this Laptop for hours.I'll be bentout of shape in a minute.
Do you remember me?

Don Airey plays keyboards on a couple of the tracks. He lives two miles from me! A very...

Advantages: A decent live document of the classic Focus line-up Disadvantages: Muddy sound mix, not a full concert

Even if guitarist Jan Akkerman can't be bothered with Sylvia (a track he's consistently, and some say purposefully, played out of tune since those OGWT slots), the rest of the album is full of quality music, amazing solos and the obligatory yodelling of the frankly crazy multi-instrumentalist leader, Thijs Van Leer. The sound quality is far from perfect - the mix is fairly quiet and most...

Advantages: A tight, well-constructed sound with technicallity and musicality to boot Disadvantages: Are you kidding me?
...Rainbow's second attempt at making an album…and what an effort! Combine the guitar mastery of Ritchie Blackmore with the vocal talent of Ronnie James Dio and you're onto something very special. When you add a rhythm section consisting of Jimmy Bain (Bass), the late great Cozy Powell on Drums and throw in Tony Carey (Keyboards) for good measure; it comes as no surprise when I tell you that this is one of the greatest Hard Rock albums ever created.
The album kicks off with a Keyboard introduction that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Its magical weaving lets you know this album is somewhat different to that of which you are commonly associated. After some build-up, the guitar enters softly, the drums roar and the roller coaster is on its way. Dio triumphantly soars above the track and takes control. The balance is perfect...
