Music For Films - Brian Eno

Advantages: gorgeous little vignettes of music, all with their own character
Disadvantages: only that some of pieces are too short

This collection of Eno tracks was recorded between 1975 and 1978 and first issued in 1978. The pieces were intended for films - hence, obviously, the title - and many have been used as such over the years. There is something very appealing about nearly all of these pieces; most are very short, vignettes of sound, with evocative titles such as "Events In Dense Fog" or "Strange Light" or "Final Sunset". All are recorded on analogue machinery - not a digital sequencer in sight - and it is this that I believe imbues the music with a certain character that you just don't get these days. The sheer act of physically moving tape, altering guitar and piano sounds with analogue synths gives these pieces a vitality and immediacy that remains with the listener for ever. Despite being a collection of fairly random tracks there was a lot ...

BOSE: Music for the soul

Advantages: Great sound quality, perfet at loud volumes, just in general FANTASTIC
Disadvantages: none so far

Anything made by BOSE can be trusted. Its sound quality is always at its best, no matter what soundsystem you use from bose, and it's true... you get what you pay for. Jus plug it in and press "ON" and you're set up! IT'S THAT EASY! bose is a big brang name, and everyone expects the best from, and how right they are. The sounddocks simplistic design brings out the best of your mp3 player, making it the whole music experience that much better. For (at most) £300, you are getting exactly what you pay for AND more! The bose soundock has an inate wonder within itself, which brings you to appreciate the minor details embedded into whatever track you are listening to. Its reasonably light weight, comes with an easy to use remote and from there onwards, it really is just you and your music i can easily say that the best thing about ...

Review of Bose SoundDock Digital Music System

Best film ever - Dirty Dancing

Advantages: All of it
Disadvantages: None

Quite simply, the greatest film ever made. You can stuff your Citizen Kane where the sun don't shine - this is the classic that just keeps on giving. There's no need to go into the plot is there? Every knows the story. Girl meets boy. Dancing. Some of it dirty. Sixties soundtrack. Grumpy Dad. First love. Teenage blossoming. Patrick. Swayze. It's got great music. It's got romance. Classic one-liners. Neil the nerdy hotel manger. It's got Patrick Swayze. Half-naked. A lot. With his muscles. And his tan. And that bottom. It's got, not the best looking girl, falling in love with a hunk. It's got dancing. Great dresses. It has, in short, got everything you need for a perfect night in. Just crack the wine open and get the chocolate out and you're sorted. Enjoy! ...
